Got a kick out of this one - the last line a twist that made me laugh! It's true that we all just want to know the secret when someone has a great recipe. Very clever!

Thank you for your comments about "my" rice pudding. I have always loved it and I recall one birthday when I not only got my fave brekkie, but rice pudding for dessert that night for tea. It was a rare treat indeed.

Dear Pam, Thank you for taking the time to look. It was done on impulse, with little thought of the second and third line. "I like rice pudding" just popped into my head and when I counted syllables and it was correct I decided to make an entry.

No they don't. It's a closely guarded secret, but one which I treasure for the memories of blissful expressions after a first mouthful. One lady was an invalid with the appetite of a sparrow. She was given some of my rice pudding which brightened her up no end. They had her on steamed chicken and broth in a few days. Unfortunately she was very frail and passed away not long afterwards, but they were so glad she'd been able to eat something a little more substantial than cornflour and hot milk.
