Firemen are very dedicated people. The primary purpose of firefighters is to help ensure the safety of lives and that means saving people's lives by preventing and extinguishing fires and it also means property safety, environmental safety and educating the public.

There can be no doubt, question or argument. Those among us who keep us safe from hurt, harm and danger are owed a huge debt of gratitude. To be clear, that includes Law Enforcement, Medics, The Fire Department, and not to be forgotten food workers, those who do the necessary work of supplying the different stores and markets with products, and last but certainly not least, all the clerks who keep all of our various and important paperwork in order.

This is a very well written poem for the Love writing prompt. First responders have to have a lot of love in their heart to face what they face each time not knowing if it will be their last one. You used very good descriptive and heartfelt words. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Whenever I hear sirens, I say a silent prayer, because no matter what's happening somebody, has a problem. I not only pray for that person or persons but for the responders, because again, they are putting their lives on the line. Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us and good luck.
