I have not read Dr. Seuss for a while, so I will just have to wing it based upon what you wrote. At first, I was a little cold to what you wrote. It appeared to me too far fetched and two forced. But I read, what you wrote, about two or three times and I finally was having such fun with what you wrote. I am delighted. Six Stars. Also, I liked your repeating at the end, "You are you." Thank you so much for sharing. Also, thank you for sharing biographical material. That is also helpful.

Stuart,
thank you for the great review and the six stars. I'm a bit short of his birthday but I do post this every year in tribute to him. Thanks again!

I enjoyed your tribute to Dr Seuss. I like your observation about his stories. There are similarities in rhyme. Very well written. I enjoyed reading about Dr Seuss and your take on his writing.

Virtual sixes again...(I really need to read your work before Saturday!)
Dr. Suess (Theodor Geisel) was born mere miles from where I now live--in Springfield, MA.
I frequently find myself walking "Mulberry Street (As in "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,"-- which as serendipity would have it came to be his first children's book published under the "Dr. Suess" name. I have enjoyed introducing each of my children to the fabulous museum in Springfield, honoring him (because I never grew up and I love, love, love his books!)
If you ever find yourself in the New ENGLAND AREA (stranger things have happened) please let me know and it would be my pleasure to introduce you to his museum and hometown!

Thank you for the virtual sixes! He was such a master in his genre and one of a kind. He is my ultimate writing bromance! Hahah! Thank you for spending your afternoon with me and my work. You are also my heroine of your genre.

My pleasure. A cup of tea, a little lap blanket, and lots of your posts to read.
Just what the doctor ordered!

I like the fact that you are paying tribute to a very well liked, known author. Your post shows the respect you feel for his work and pays tribute to him through your writing. The "Today you are You" line was a great ending.

Excellent post and ode to Dr Seuss. How clever to write like this. He was one clever dude. He had such an inventive approach to pulling the reader in. If it was black, he said it was white or green. Thanks for sharing.

Hi John,
This is a fun ode to your muses. Seuss is a good one. I think everyone had their, old and new. Some take inspiration from other writers on this site.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

As I've often said, when it comes to poetry, I wouldn't know a sonnet from sorbet. But even an untrained ear can read and enjoy the rhyme, meter, and verses they can't write. To be touched my another's sensitivities.
Thanks for sharing.

I love Dr Seuss and I had a lot of fun when I read his poem to my children. I also like Green Eggs and Ham very much.
Thanks for writing this well-deserved tribute.
