I love the parallel you create with 'drink' - just as we are always cautioned to drink in moderation, so too should we approach many aspects in life in a similar way. Better to progress steadily and enjoy the journey that blaze our way to an early burnout.

This was an enjoyable read. I love how this captures the concept of drinking up life. We all need to work on what makes us good and not what society says we should be. Thanks for the read.

May you have a happier and healthier 2022 as well. I enjoyed reading your poem and your author's notes. Thank you for adding the Bible verse. I found that your poem met the requirements of the contest. Your poem was creative. It rhymed well. It flowed very well. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Darlene

The "water of life" is the belief of the Father and the Son, author.
You wrote from Revelation 22, I believe.
"And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of its main street. On both sides of the river were trees of life producing 12 crops of fruit, yielding their fruit each month. And the leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations."
It is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

The water of life given by Jesus, Himself. And out of it will flow rivers of living water. Interesting contest. What a wonderfully written poem.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

This was really good! A very cool take on the contest. It had good flow and the rhymes felt natural and not forced. I appreciate the higher meaning you instilled within the poem and that it had an order of progression from young to old. I found rhythm very easy and found that reading out loud came quite easily with very few awkward lines. Excellent work!

The objective correlative of your work reminisces a propaganda call to approximate the yearnings of Jesus Christ, when he said: "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink."
The work highlights the resultant change occasioned by the drink that leads to his or her belly flowing with "rivers of living water"(John 7:37).
The work earns its texture through its effective use of restoration anecdotes capable of bringing about a change for the better.
Excellent work. Bravo.
