This poem is superb in all respects--very skillfully written, in perfect form with smooth flow, vividly descriptive, and delightful in its message. This person is not merely walking through the woods; she is the forest's "guest."

Thank you! Aren't we always the guest when we invade nature's habitat? I like to think so. Thank you for a wonderful review.

The feeling is always pleasant when strolling through the forest. Next to where I live is a patch of woods that offers a few deer at times so I feed them with corn. Good poem Arkie.

Oh, how wonderful. I live in town, but I still get raccoons and possums. I think I'm the only one in the neighborhood who feeds them. Shhhh. Don't tell.

-Thanks for sharing the picture and notes about it.
-I can see why it would be a treasure.
-You wrote a very good poem about it.
-The imagery, rhyme, and repeating phrases
create a vivid word picture and smooth flow from verse to verse.
-I like all of the nature imagery creating a peaceful mood.
-A very good closing couplet, too.
-Very well done.

I really liked this charming description of your walk but I did wonder at the repetition of 'little' (x3). There are plenty of synonyms for this word and the brook could even be described in another way. 'Little squirrels,' 'tiny heart' and perhaps 'lazy brook' might fit at this juncture.

I dood it. I changed those words. I tend to just go along as I'm thinking. I need to stop that. Thanks for helping me out.

Hello Yvonne,
I love the poem that you wrote to accompany the picture. Both are a delight. I don't have a private park per se', but often when I would be out hunting, I could trek for miles without seeing a soul in the woods. It's quite serene. When tourism discovered Hoonah, it totally changed the whole atmosphere. Places that used to be known only to the locals became destinations for the money grubbing tourist industry. Such a shame. Some things should be left alone altogether.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

I agree. We invade and destroy too much of nature. Thank you, Tom.

I love this one, it is beautiful, quiet, serene, appeals to all the senses, and it fits perfectly with that format. So smooth, so flowing.
The painting is a perfect accompaniment, and i can see why you treasure it.

That's lovely. We all need a private park. We have some beautiful parks here and I like to pretend they're private. I can't wait till spring, because they really help my stress level.

How lovely! Your poem describes a serenity hard to find in this, my busy city, and much longed-for; thank you for sharing it! I loved it all, but that last stanza, and the closing couplet are my favorite parts.

Such a beautiful painting, and you've written an equally beautiful poem to go with it. I have never attempted a Roger's Refrain, but I liked yours so much I am now tempted to try one. Very lovely words painting a gorgeous word-picture of your private park. Thanks for this! MM
