I could relate to the details about cleaning the chimney. It's a dirty job. How clever of the architect to place a shelf in it when he could keep his work. The descriptions are so good that it doesn't come across as wordy -- a fault I find with several long pieces. Also intrigued by the narrator's constant referral to Ive's popular song and the insertion three times of the last line. That she swallowed a fly at the end infers she may die!

Excellent

This is consistently good, tight writing. Even the normally unimportant things like walking slowly to the fireplace with iced coffee succeeds in painting a picture of the curious woman on a hot summer day. Very well written.
