"And Christmas, too!" is beautifully done. The story builds up nicely with the assumption that two visitors had just dropped in. Then the ending comes with a reader's surprise. Very enjoyable.

Nicely done, my friend. An example of love, mercy and synchronicity presented as a memorial within the boundary of 360 words. Not only is it a wonderful but poignant Christmas story, it is an example of the standard by which we should live.

Well, thank you for these sterling comments and your stellar affirmation.
The idea was from notes and rough draft from a long time ago. It was over a thousand words. Following your example of the best words in order, it shrank to size.
I think we all hope our life will end peacefully and without trauma. Some , though, are trapped in the living shell with no communication possible. Alive but seemingly insensate.
Live long and continue to write of your intriguing bits of a troubled life. An individual, coping, though seeking a far horizon where it would be different, and maybe better.
