Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Hopefully done with surguries, at least for now. Three were enough for me.

The holidays are all about the same for me. I celebrate Christ's birthday in my mind, and then pretty much stick to myself. I'm single and my children are all grown, have lives of their own, and don't live close. I hope you had a Merry Christmas, and I'm sure you're relieved the surgeries are behind you. I'm glad for you. Happy New Year!

Thank you for sharing this with us. Our youngest son, Steven and my husband, Brian got into a huge discussion over Thanksgiving while Steven was home over archaeology of this areas. For Christmas Steven gave his dad a book title, 'Under Jerusalem'. They're having a great time searching things and discussing them. Great job.

Mr. West's article has the features a report such as an encyclopedia might include. It enlightened me about the Via Maris, an important historical road with notable and ancient religious and trade significance. One clear absence in Mr. West's writing is description, which would have added a lot to the string of facts we read in this piece. What kinds of places did the Via Maris pass through? What were some of the dominant cultures in place along this road? A detail that grammatical editing should have caught and did not is the faulty final sentence, which is perhaps the worst place to have a faulty sentence.

Oh yea, a good working knowledge of the English language is also necessary in order to comprehend, that means, understand, what is read.
