This is an interesting piece of history, Brett. Thanks for sharing. The fact that nails were found to be holding parts of the boat made me doubtful that it was that old, but I guess if it's thought to have been in existence perhaps a century ago, the nails could have been more recent additions.

You ask a good question.

"Ginosar was an agricultural community on the western short(shore) of Galilee."

It is doubtful there will ever be enough evidence to link the boat to Jesus, but from the similarities of the boat descriptions in the Bible it's close enough for me to believe the possible link. Thanks for sharing. I hate to be a pest, but I'm hoping your biopsies are back and you've gotten a good report.

Not a pest. Never think that. Expecting them back this week. Will keep you informed once I get them. Expect at least two more surgeries will be needed.

Darn, two more surgeries. I was hoping you were done with the surgeries. But I'm sure not as much as you. Just remember, brother. I had eight surgeries total removing tumors of my back, spine, and including a malignant melanoma. But, thank the good Lord, nothings popped back up. Hopefully this will all be behind you soon!!! Hang tough!

Does it matter? Though I looked this up and read all I could...I believe it is Jesus' boat, discovered to place His presence in our modern world. Like the Ark - it is a precious relic. Some folks need tangible, touchable things to believe. This is a wonderful writing.

M-m-m how interesting to read about this boat which may or may not be connected with Jesus and his disciples - how might this connection be established beyond doubt I wonder?

Hi Brett, this is absolutely amazing and thanks a lot for sharing this with us. Whoever it belonged to is to me irrelevant, even Jesus was born a Jew, until he found his own gospel. The important thing about this find is its historical place what is now Israel. Very well written and very interesting. Ulla:)))

Thank you for enlightening me on this story about the discovery of this boat. It reminds me of when we sail on the boat in the sea of Galilee in 2010. I thoroughly enjoyed that trip to the Holy Land and could visit those Biblical places. Thanks for sharing, Kit.

This is an interesting account you have written about the ancient boat. It was fascinating how they went about preserving it from further decay. If it happened to be a boat that Jesus was once in, we would have to conclude that he wasn't in it when it sake.

So, the mystery remains. Is it or is it not Jesus' boat? (To me it's not important because in my mind it still validated the fact that the Bible is correct about the possibility. So many people disbelieve the Bible and the stories. It seems the move discoveries made the factual the Bible becomes. Thank you for sharing.)

I enjoyed reading this very much, but I was distracted by what you were providing information to prove. I had an idea, but it was not certain enough and I was therefore distracted by that question throughout my reading this. I finally saw to what point and purpose this was written with your question at the end. Your ending is perfect, but I would repeat the question earlier in this piece, before you go on to point out the evidence about the boat. Otherwise, well done.

Brett,

I loved reading your essay, and from the beginning, I couldn't help but wonder if that was the boat Jesus walked to in the storm. But does it matter? It can serve as such symbolically just as well as factually. Superb. Proofreading note follows.
