I like the picture... Blue can mean a sunny day. It can also mean being blue and dark inside... This poem reminds people of their moms.
I miss my Mom too. She passed away at 60. The irony I didn't believe she would die even though my brother told me so. At that time, I was away from my home country. I didn't want to return home due to my career advancement.
The author is lucky that she left Tina with songs... that she can recall and learn something.

60 is so young! No one expects their mom to leave them that early. I did not appreciate the songs before my mom died, as I did after she died. Later, I realized the gift she gave me.
I hope you have fond memories of your mom and something she taught or gave you:)

I really enjoyed reading this, as well as your bio to the right. It is a wonderful thing to be motivated so creatively because of something you found of hers after she was gone. Yes! writing poetry makes me like her. It keeps me connected to her. I was 18 when she died, so I am not sure how I raised two girls pretty much on my own as a good mom. No one taught me how to be a mom, I thought...but then I remembered all the things she told me about God, and with His help and friends, we made it through! I do not usually share so much personal stuff, but I am thankful!

The contest ended yesterday and I tied for second. It was just fun writing down my appreciation for Momma and music. Music is definitely healing, you are so right!

for Jesus songs were ones that she adored
and as the notes fell from these lips of mine,
