Hi Cass,
I enjoyed your story about Tiki and the ghost. I'm not sure I believe in ghosts, although I did have a peculiar encounter about 2 years ago. It was a couple of weeks after my father passed away. He died on New Years Eve, 2019, at the age of 95. I had dozed off on the couch. My wife called me for supper, and as I was waking up, a man in a plaid shirt was standing by our bedroom door. He abruptly turned away from my view, and walked through an invisible door... poof! gone! It didn't scare me at all. And I wondered if it was part of a dream. I wish I had seen his face.
I believe that cats have a kind of ESP. Perhaps they see what we cannot.
We have three felines. Sometimes Ray-Ray and Chico will just tear through the house, one end to the other. It's crazy to watch them.
One spot to look at...
"A lady called Mrs. Brown had the kindest heart in Tweedvale and the whole town grieved when(.) a fortnight after the death of her beloved disabled son, she too passed away." ... (use a comma here... I know this was just an oversight.)

Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Dear Kimbob, thank you for your review and the five stars. The "oversight" has been dealt with, thanks for pointing it out. I have a definite belief in the Spirit world. I have had too many experiences not to. It sounds as though you had a VERY brief visit from someone. I'm glad you weren't afraid. Many absolutely freak out. Yes cats are very psychic, and show their abilities in different ways. Tiki was very shy and a bit of a "fraidy cat" 'cos he wasn't very strong, having had rickets as a kitten. Felix was different. He was smart, wise and brave and he loved Tiki dearly. We have no doubt that it was due to Felix's influence on Tiki that gave him the courage to accept Chico. Felix used to help me meditate. I would be in my chair, music on, shawl around my shoulders, when he'd come in. He'd jump into my lap, purring like a dynamo and settle himself down. I never failed to reach the "place" I aimed for with Felix sitting with me. When he died at age 16& I was devastated and no cat since has ever done the same. You are lucky to be able to appreciate your three cats and their goings on. When life seems hard they will lighten the day with their silly antics. It is something I miss now live in "care" cheers Cass

So Tiki had encounters with Chico and that caused such fearful reactions? I like the stark contrast between your two cats. Great job with all the suspense you described!

Dear Helen, Thank you for your review and the five stars. Tiki wasn't very brave at all, having had rickets as a kitten. It stunted his growth and left him nervous and touchy. Not at all like Felix who was not only a big cat, but smart and brave too. And, he loved Tiki dearly. He defended him against a good sized dog once, and as Tiki came to him to smooge in thanks Felix stood in stiff legged triumph, a piece of doggie hair on his lip, while the dog (about the size of an Australian sheepdog) howled its way back to its kennel in the next street. Felix was twice his normal
size and took quite a while to calm down. Memories, memories. cheers Cass
