What a unique form! You've written it very well...I can see the "E" represented and your rhymes are perfect! Love the final two lines...a zing to any who would frivolously spend to pad their vanity! It's so nice to be back home and reviewing again! Thanks for sharing this one...it's going on my "have to try it" list!

My daughter and granddaughter have been on a shopping weekend, I think your ending lines would certainly apply to them. LoL This sounds like a complicated form, must get my muse ready for the challenge. Great write Yvonne. Cheers

You did a fabulous job with your Barbee poem challenge and you give us pause to be thankful and consider how much we really need. So many Americans probably spend in "shopping flings" more than some kings!

This is quite lovely, Yvonne. All the elements of good poetry are present, and you have worked your gift of skilled metre and rhymes and cross-rhymes in harmoniously.

And one can picture the dress and pondering upon its value quite adequately.

You served the form well with a most enjoyable read today. :))

Thank you. This one was quite challenging for this tired old brain, but it was fun.

This was a wonderful Barbee and yes I do know what that is damommy. I really enjoyed the concept of your words. They showed that there is hope but does come with a price. Unfortunately everything comes with a price. I loved the siloulette, it was great. Very well done and thoroughly enjoyed.

Yvonne,
This is a tricky form which you performed well for the potlatch club. It tells a witty story of a woman pondering whether she should buy an expensive dress. She feels guilty because she already spends much more than she should.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Hi Yvonne, you did a great job with this poem, a form I've never seen before. Not surprisingly taking into account my little knowledge of poetry. It's true, we've all bought something we didn't need and in the end didn't like either. Ulla:)))

Fortunately for me, I hate shopping, so I'm very careful what I choose because I don't want to have to go back. lol. I think that comes from my mother and grandmother sewing so beautifully, and wearing school uniforms. Shopping was a rare thing for me growing up. Thanks, Ulla, for a great review.

This is a really cool style! Pondering is the exact perfect title for the artwork. It made me have to read this. There are so many facets to this poem, like the 'E' shape and girly font and great rhyming and reflective feel, but it reads as smoothly as can be. Do you remember cameo pins that women wore? This profile art reminds me a bit of that time and makes me realize these reflections of a girl considering clothes is a universal reflection:)

Thank you, Tina. Yes, I remember those cameo pins very well. My grandmother had one that she wore every day.

Oh, that's cool! I see them in antiques stores and am tempted to buy one and wear it. I think they are beautiful:)
Thanks to your poem, I now have that in my mind, so thanks!

Hello Yvonne.

You did a good job of meeting the style standard for the Barbee form. Since nothing is more reprehensible to me than going shopping, I can't identify with that. Going shopping to me is hitting the Dollar Tree. It is soon to be the $1.25 Tree.

I'm the same about shopping. I hate to shop, especially for clothes. The Dollar Tree is my kind of store. lol.
