This poem is very sad and dark. It is interesting. It is not pleasant, but it is written good. It is a good poem but try to write a happy poem. Thank you for sharing! Good luck!

Thank you Raul or your review. Appreciated. Is there a way you can suggest to improve it so I can get five stars instead of four?

It's not fiction. It is a true story.

What a sad story! Anorexia nervosa is a difficult illness, and the person with it seems to die by degrees. I sensed her loneliness and despair in your description of her. I will pray for Katy. Thanks for sharing her story, and best wishes in the contest. Blessings. Carol

I know about chronic illness. I also know healing can appear in many forms. Don't lose hope for your friend. I know this story wasn't about me. Someone close to me tells me everything isn't about me. I identify with your story, though. Thank you and don't give up.

Poor Katy. I did pray for her and hope the next time you see her, you will be shocked at how much healthier she is. It is heartbreaking to see this happen to a young person. Thank you for sharing this sad but extremely well-written story.

Thank you so very much, for your very caring review and for your prayers for her. She really is in God's hands now, as I think that medical science can't reverse her grave situation. But He can.

OMG! Wendy, I feel so sorry for your pain...if I had a nickel for every dollar of a person with a disability like hers, I would wrap my arms around them and squeeze them tight! I feel for you my sweet dear friend you are the most thoughtful person that I know. This poem of yours is straight to the point and I agree that this has to stop. Anorexia is deadly and I would never wish it on anyone!
Take good care of yourself and please don't let the worrisome troubles get you down!
Jesse

Thank you Jesse. I appreciate your caring review. No, these things are all part of life, and I am not in a position to help her, unfortunately. Just felt very shocked and saddened. Best wishes to you.

Appearances can be very deceptive - you thought Katy an elderly person; when she looks in the mirror she thinks she's fat so is now anorexic. This condition is one of life's tragedies, perhaps tied up with the tattoos and piercings as a way to further abuse herself due to self-loathing issues. So much of mental health is unfathomable. Your story is well written, and the backstory also shows you to be a sensitive, caring person. Katy needs all the prayers she can get.

Thank you so much for your compassionate and understanding review. Yes, her brain is now not functioning at all normally, and it looks like her other organs are also winding down. I appreciate your thoughts.

Dear Mystery Writer,

How horribly tragic. I'm really sorry that your friend is hurting herself in such a nasty dreadful way. To appear to be an ancient lady and to have to use a walker! Especially when she is really so, so young. That has to be so difficult for everyone around her. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like as parents to watch your child kill herself by withholding food.

They say that is one of the most devastating mental issues ever.

This was nicely presented and expressed well with grace and kindness.
Well done. Good luck!

Thanks so much Robyn. A very compassionate review. Thanks too for your good wishes.
Yes it is very sad, and her parents are quite distraught, but her brain does not not function normally any more, and it does look as if she will soon be in total organ failure.

How sad, Mystery Author. It's a happy thought, though, that you and she spent time together last year at the party. You have that to remember when the time comes she probably will pass. You did a great job expressing your thoughts and feelings.
Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you for your understanding review, much appreciated. Yes, I am glad to have had that conversation with her, but so sad to see that she has wasted away so much more. But her brain does not function normally any more and it looks like her other organs are not functioning well either.
