What a sad story Wendy. Eating disorders are dreadful but so many young ones particularly women suffer from it. Media and magazines have improved with the way they have portrayed models but it's still a real problem. Thanks for sharing Franky

Brutal. This may well be winner. Stunning closer says it all. Per your note she is hanging on, but barely. This rings too close to home--my sister has been anorexic for 50 years--maintains herself above acute danger level--but her health sucks. Spot on at 100 words. (assuming twenty-eight counts as a single word with the judges--I think it does).

You've told a very sad story in these one hundred words. It's a story that isn't often talked about. Too often I see people out and about who could very well be suffering from anorexia. Well written. Good luck in the contest.

This one-hundred-word story, Approaching the End, has the required word count and tells a horror story about the neffects of this terrible eating disorder and gives the readers a stark image to remember.

Although your entry is sad I enjoyed it. One perfect for giving thanks for our own lives. My heart goes out to this young woman experiencing what she is going through. Outstanding entry, good luck.

This scene is very well set up to surprise the reader. The phrase "under her woolen beanie" is particularly clever, adding layers/dimensions and context to the image, like the reference to the street party. There must be a lot more to the story. Where does this chance encounter occur? Thanks for a marvelous story.

Thank you very much for the super review and the gift of six stars. I appreciate it so much. Yes, there is a lot of back story.

Oh my goodness this is so very tragic. I know people, mainly girls die of this terrible affliction. Controlled by the mind, the body suffers and this conflict is hard to heal, a poignant and shocking write, love Dolly x

Thank you so much. I appreciate that a lot. (And it makes up for the guy who gave me only four stars, because it didn't have a happy ending! Never mind whether it was written well or not.) I appreciate your thoughtfulness, and I do hope it does raise some awareness.

Well formatted.
A sad yet compelling story. How quickly a young life can change and age. How sad that, in this case, the cause of ageing could have been avoided. There is help for those who suffer from eating disorders. If treated in time a full recovery is possible.
The imagery and idea for this presentation enhances the theme.
Best wishes for the voting booth

Thank you so much, Bonnie, for your compassionate and understanding review, which I greatly value. Yes, she has had a lot of treatment, but maybe they didn't start early enough. Many thanks for your good wishes as well.
