What a great story. Your tale stays on point, holds the reader's interest and the pace is strong. There was a time when I thought I might find the loot!

A great entry in the family story contest. It is kind of humorous, and that i good. Keep up the great story writing. Have a wonderful day after Thanksgiving.

This story, Everybody Gets a Parting Gift, has a cool story attached to an even cooler ending. The tale stands along all the other DB Cooper stories written to give a bit of closure to this bizarre slice of history.

What a great story and I just loved it what a great dad even if he was a bit weird. I wonder if the greenbacks were still spendable or out of date. Lovely ending think I will read it again and again. Kooky

This is brilliant. And it proves one of my pet theories. Fiction often does present the most believable scenarios. I still remember D B Cooper and his incredible heist. They never did find him. Glad you waited until your Dad passed away.

This is a great story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It immediately grabbed my attention and held it from beginning to end. The story reads as if it's non-fiction because it's so believable. The only thing I would change are all of the stand-alone sentences. Except for dialogue and occasionally for dramatic effect, single sentences aren 't usually used. I feel most of your ought to be connected the previous or preceding paragraphs. They lose their dramatic effect when there are so many and I found it distracting. Anyway, it's only my opinion and all that being said, I think you've done a great job and the story is quite entertaining.

A great read. I , up until the end, didn't know if it was going to be or was not going to be, then when he started digging, I knew we would come to that ahaa moment.
Bravo.
God luck with this.
My best wishes.

I like the way this family story is told...like two old friends casually conversing, as opposed to reading a literary piece. The events of the story flow nicely, but I had to recap the movement from city to city to clearly understand. Hope I have this straight: Dad grew up in Washington State, but hitchhiked from Kentucky to Pennsylvania, went hunting in Tionesta, PA, but hijacked a Boeing727 in Portland and returned home to Pennsylvania.

Great storytelling. Best wishes in the contest.

Oh my goodness I thought I was reading non-fiction because I didn't pay attention to the top line of the post. It's written so well, that it felt real. You've got a great sense of humour Earl. Good luck in the contest.
