this little poem had a very echoing quality about it.

The poem is short and to the point... and yet in my mind it doesn't stop there... even though the words suggest that. Hmmmmm, eerie?

Excellent

"True love" and "soulmates", I think are an allusion. In my life, I've had three relationships and the closest I've come to finding contentment, is with the third person. I don't think I could really come up with a definition for true love. I just know what works for me. Best wishes.

Indeed. The beginning of a relationship is seen behind rosetinted glasses but the real effect of the relationship starts to sink in after the first rod.

Well, I got my 4 a.m. chuckle this morning. The overall presentation is perfect. Your two line poem, ending in rhyme, is a grand and bold statement.
I have found in life that the only perfect and truest love is agape love.
