Lovely words. Nicely proportioned, and meaningful...the soul of the work is attained.
Bravo for the win.

This didn't come into my PM box. Maybe because it was in a contest, and won!!! I can see why. This is a very good poem. I enjoyed reading. I can feel the emotion of losing an infant. It's horrible.

In fifteen words you have captured the most horrible situation. Like you said, the saddest loss of all. The photo alone touches me. I just can't let my mind go there.
I enjoy these short poems. I like to see what people can do with just a few words. Yours is powerful. Good luck in the contest.

Empathy without sympathy or expounding.
The perfect type of poem for such a sad occasion. The short duration adds to the feeling of just being available. The statement is straight forward without being blunt. The flow is good. The picture fits well with the words.
Thanks for sharing.

I believe your words actually DID express a good measure of grief, but probably does not touch the full measure of losing a child. And... you did it skillfully too. I love the alliteration of 'babe's breath' and 'stilled', 'short', and 'saddest.' Your words are so ON POINT and full of deep meaning. Well done, on a subject that I would find very difficult to approach in poetry.

Thank you Tina, and you are right, I don't think any words can fully express such heartbreak. I appreciate your lovely review.

Congrats on the contest win Wendy. A heart-breaking little poem about the loss of a baby before you've even got to know her. You portray the story well. Well written.

This fifteen-word poem, Tears, has the required word count and brings the incredible sense of loss and utter soul depletion into this scene which involves the death of a baby. Crippling.

No one who has not experienced it can fathom the loss of losing a child. Yeah there was a time it was pretty common. And it still is common, in other parts of the world. Thank you for the read, and the reminder.

Such a sad, sad little poem, but all too often, it is a reality for some grieving family. Thanks for this well-written reminder
to remember those who grieve, and to be there for hurting family members. Good luck in the contest. MM
