Jer, I choose your free-verse version of the sonnet over the more restrictive form any day. You did a stupendous job adding to the Bard's list of attributes by including your personal expression of your love's effect on you.

While a great artist like Shakespeare lives on through his works, at a certain point it can only go so far. From reading your poem you have what it takes to make your own poems free from modernizing other's poems. Take that step, scary as it is, and let your creates shine.
