This six-word poem, Beautiful Fall Leaves, has the required word count and seems to be an ironic title once the reality of the orange blanket becomes clear.

Bill - Thanks for the great review. Glad that you caught the irony. - Jerry

I love this! Those six words are the truest I've read. I've raked up more leaves in my lifetime than I care to remember! Very well done with the poem and the picture, that goes perfectly with it. Good luck in the contest! Surperb. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra - thank you for the great review. The picture was from my backyard, before raking.

It is difficult to create a coherent poem of only, and exactly, six words. It is a major achievement to create one with some technicity such as alliteration, or as here an internal rhyme. Well done!

Kathrine - thank you for the great review. I find these short poems and stories both challenging and fun.

Yes, I know the feeling. Raking leaves is hard on the back, but they are oh, so lovely even scattered about. This is a gorgeous picture that you've chosen to go with your poem. Good luck in the contest.

You are so welcome. You have a great back yard!

Beautiful image, and excellent words. We don't have too many deciduous trees - can the leaves just be left to decay into the soil? or do they blow away and become a nuisance? They look beautiful as a carpet ....

Wendy - Thank you for the great review. Some people let them lay; however, most rake or blow them and then burn them or dispose of them in some other way. The picture is from my backyard in Upstate New York, USA. Where do you live?
-
Australia. The cooler parts and mountainous areas have magnificent deciduous trees. We have a few but they don?t thrive here because we get extreme summer heat.

Have some wonderful pictures and memories from Australia.

Hello Writer.
That's quite a meaningful poem you have written in 6 words. I'm going to watch them lay and rot this year unless somebody else comes to move them.
Good luck in the contest.

Robert - Thanks for the great review. I would like to let them lay but I fear that my neighbors would kill me. - Anonymous (LOL)

You're welcome. Just tell the neighbors they can have all they want.

I usually don't review the really short stuff, but this one is a cut above the rest. This should win the contest. It's getting to that time of year here in Maine.

Ha! This made me laugh. I love the contrast here or the things that fall leaves can make us think of. So few words, so clear an idea. Very well executed.

Really nice contest entry - best of luck!! The picture is gorgeous, fall is my favorite season. I was just out at our wheelchair-high beds removing leaves from the beds!! Use Icy Hot and a heating pad and bed rest with a cup of tea!

Sherry - WOW - gardening in a wheelchair. I am impressed! Did not know that you could do that. Thanks for the great review and how did you know that I am handsome? Suggest that you get your eyeglass prescription checked.

Ah now! I know what I see. I have big old pots that I garden in...we all grow lots of things - I had 3 small potatoes and a tomato from a friend - yum!
