Excellent tribute to, August. You have filled in much of the information from his life that made him the very sincere, generous and kindly man we who knew him came to admire.
I am so glad that Amber has been with to share further her father's enormous accomplishments and missionary work.
Thank you so much for sharing this fine tribute.

Thank you Gloria, for your kind thoughts and appreciations
on this tribute for August. However, without the kind and
obliging help of his dear daughter Amber, would not have
been possible to have been written by me. Neither did I know
him as well, primarily as fan and friend on site, with occasional
message exchanges on few topics. It was through her courage
that the gaps and missing pieces were filled in, even while still
in grieving over such sudden tragic loss of him. She is the
other half of the story and tribute, and rightly, deservedly I
felt she needed to be included in it, (via her own direct quotes).
It was only through this process, my own empathies and
reflections forming a dual victory of triumph over most
shattering tragedies, that I attempted to write this tribute.
Both a remarkable man, and equally remarkable daughter
most appreciably honored. My humble honor to have
shared it, especially by you and most gratefully for the
extra star award. God Bless you!
Gratefully, Ronni

That you for filling in all the many gaps in the life of August. I'm more and more impressed with the life of this man as I read the many tributes offered up by his friends at FS.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and appreciations on this
tribute to August, a unique talent and dedicated man. An
exceptional inspiration to FS indeed.
Have a great day and thanks for sharing so kindly.
Best wishes, Ronni

-This is beautiful, Ronni.
-I appreciate you sharing it.
-I didn't know August well; he
would review a few of my poems,
and I reviewed a few of his.
-Even through that, I thought
he was a very kind and caring person.
-I like that you told his story, and I
think he would be proud that you did.
-It helps to understand. What a tragedy
that fateful day was, and he lived with
it his whole life. But he has a lovely
daughter who will do him proud
and will carry his legacy by helping
those who need it.
-I think this is one of the most
profound pieces I have read on FS.
-I hope you are doing well and
can spend some more time on the site.

Dear Pam,
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments ,
appreciation and own reflections of this tribute for
him. Nether did I know him that well, primarily as
fan and friend on site, with few messages exchanged
once in awhile.
Truly though, were it not for the kind, obliging sharing,
in a few PM exchanges with me, with his dear daughter
Amber, filling in the gaps, questions addressed so candidly
and forthrightly by her, about his personal life, I could not have
ever written this tribute. But since she did, and piecing in the
missing pieces, like a puzzle, the profound story of his life,
and hers finally compelled me to at least try. An incredible
life story of how both persevered and prevailed in the most
traumatic events and losses in their life. Suddenly widowed
father, challenged with coping in his own grieving, and
ominous added irony and responsibility of raising precious
daughter Amber, having lost her beloved mom at such a fragile
and delicate age of only 4. And he himself, in various stages
of pain and suffering from dangerous, risky job field, struggling
to hold on and so dedicatedly raising precious Amber through
a saddened childhood, as a single widowed father, through to
adulthood. That he did so, and succeeded, despite the fates
and odds, and that she too, through his dedicated love and
guidance, likewise prevailed and succeeded. A triumph and
victory over such a deep range of trauma and grieving losses.
By piecing together this phenomenal human endurance and
irrefutable courage by both, is why I relied on and included
the direct quotes by Amber, as she relayed them to me, and
rightly feel this is a dual tribute to both, August & Amber.
And the only way I finally managed to write it.
I sincerely, most gratefully thank you for the awesome
compliment mine being one of the most profound pieces you
have read on FS. There are so many great and accomplished
ones than me am well aware of too. I merely tried and wrote
this tribute for August as but my chapter for the book tribute
being assembled for him.
Thanks for kind well wishes, I am doing well, just not enough
time to post on here due to schedule as a Humanities Teacher
at local regional college, but working on adjusting schedules
as much as I can, and will continue to do so. Appreciate
your kind nudge. Bless you for it!
Most gratefully, Ronni

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, Ronni. It is ironic that August and his daughter's story is one of love, but also sadness from the losses they experienced.
Is there a specific subject you teach? I was a H.S. English teacher for 29 years, but took an early retirement quite a while ago!
-
I teach an elective basic intro
course of The Classics and
Humanities; The great debates and Philosophies of legendary Philosophers, ie,
Socrates, Tolstoy, Descartes.
Congrats on your long teaching career! Surely enjoying your retirement I
would imagine.
Take care, best always, Ronni
-
That is some heavy stuff!! Thank you for the congratulations. Retirement is good, and at the time teaching H.S. was drastically changing. Take care.

A devotional and praise of an exceptional man. As with all truly great men, August was humble toward his accomplishments, never lauding himself.
Learned many things about his life here, am very grateful to you for this.
Also really enjoyed revelations by August' daughter Amber, further testimony about the man he was.
Thank you for posting this.

Thank you Irish, for your thoughtful comments and reflections
on this tribute for August. Without his dear daughter Amber's
sharing info on her dad, this could not have been written, she
is the other half of the story who deserves the honors and
appreciations along with him. Thanks too for Xtra star!
Best wishes always, Ronni

Thank you for sharing your great tribute to this quiet, unassuming man. Your words read smoothly with great imagery. The lines directed at Amber are well written though poignant. I know you meant 2001 not 2011.

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments on this
tribute for August. Amber indeed, was an important part of
the story, without her kind sharing, could not have been written.
The typo on the year, has been corrected, thank you for notice.
Have a gorgeous day and thanks for the appreciations.

Hi dear Mary,
Without the kind and gracious help of August's daughter, Amber;
this could not have come to be written by me. I only primarily
knew August as fan and friend and few messages now and then.
It was dear Amber who shared background of events and such
tragic circumstances of his and her personal lives; was able to
piece together the gaps in between, empathies and inspirations
formed within me to attempt this tribute for August. In reality,
it is a tribute for both August and daughter, a heart aching
story of triumph over their trauma's and own grieving.
He was indeed a remarkable man, and likewise with an equally
remarkable daughter who deserved to be in the tribute too.
Thanks for sharing your kind thought and empathies, and I so
appreciate you citing it as a moving and heartfelt tribute for
all still mourning his loss. God Bless!

Dearest Ronni,
I never got to know August. I don't think I ever reviewed a poem of his or likewise. There are so many exceptional souls on this site.
To my chagrin, I have never been one to spend hours here conversing or getting to know anyone with a great degree of nurturing.
I have read many dedicated to this wonderful guy and yours is so detailed and so intimate, I- almost feel- intrusive.
A beautiful work from your own o'er your usual style of creating beauty in one of the most philosophical ways, where your rich language is as fine, delicate and detailed as a spider weaving the finest silk or an artisan creating the most exquisite gown in the eras of great Balls.
It appears as if you knew him well. You are one of the members who are so very true to others and personal, without intrusion upon privileged and privacy matters. You are a nurturer by design.
Thank you for sharing.
A few nits did you mean 2001
And in third stanza- too many negatives- no one nor nothing
Can read not anyone or anything- just a suggestion.
Hope to connect with you whenever you are up to talking. My life has been wondrously busy for many years but I am slowing down a bit.
Have a great day
A friend and fan always

Well hello Jimi! Where on earth have you been??? Quite a few ages
past, don't you think?
Thank you for all the marvelous accolades and generous compliments on this tribute poem for August. How many
lifetimes need I to live up to them dear? LOL..I hope I have
enough time...LOL...
Actually, and surprisingly to many from impressions, I did
not know August that well. I was a fan and friend, and he of
mine too, but besides primarily a review exchange between
us, and occasional messages now and then on various topics,
that was about it. This particular tribute, in the manner it
was written was in the inspiration and empathies retained
was what his daughter Amber provided in my request for
more info on his personal life and background, which without
I could never have written. So many gaps and mysteries, no
way I could have attempted it, but member questions on site
steadily increasing. That was why and how it came to be.
Thanks ever so much for the extra star....appreciate it!!!
I am most anxious to hear about your "wondrously busy life"
but now slowing down a bit"....Ahhh now perhaps is the perfect
pace and grace time for you to share? Looking forward to it,
you have been truly missed!
You can connect with me anytime dear, where, how, when?
just let me know. Even my EM if you wish.
My EM is:: vibes.by.ronnee@gmail.com
Sorry for late reply, saved best for last, but hope not too long.
Blessings always, Ronni

I will send you a personal email. Would love to connect. Hope all is well with you and life has blessed you abundantly with love, companionship, health, success and comfort.

Thanks dear, so looking
forward to it!!!

Beautiful tribute, Ronni dear. He was a stellar individual for sure. I feel like I knew just a small portion. Thank you for the breadth of him detailed here. Our collective loss is devastating.
Typo for repair: September 11, [2001]. You have 2011 twice in the text. Easily fixed. ;)
Sending you my best today as always, and abundant comfort from our Lord and Christ,

Thank you dear Sally, for your thoughtful comments and
appreciations on tribute for August. He indeed was a most
remarkable poet/writer on FS being missed dearly. The
info on him and his personal life, was kindly shared by his
kindly, obliging daughter Amber, many of which I did not
know myself; I primarily knew him as fan and friend on site;
and was essential in filling in the gaps and mystery. Without
which I could not ever have written this tribute; rightly, dutifully
honoring both. Profound story of lives of two people
suffering through so much loss and shattering grief.
Thanks again for your compliments, and did correct typo on
year, appreciate the tip.
Love, blessings always, Ronni
