It has always been interesting to me how many of these folks there are around. Ones too lazy and pigg-headed to find their own gainfully informal regular jobs with a work schedule. Faaarr preferring the delights of home, comforts, and couches. Yet. Somehow. When the rubber meets the road, they find a way to save everyone, keep their new job and family and boss together. The highest order of miracles.
The 'watcher' had better stay viligilant.

This "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing," leave me wondering about the details of what did you actually mean concerning the "devious secretary of the colony." Good title to a good story with limited words. Flash fiction is a difficult piece to tackle, but you seemed to do it so well. I would think it had the essentials of growing into a mystery short story. GOOD LUCK.
