The simplest tasks of everyday life can trigger the strongest reactions. We ponder how often we do something for the person, and how often the person showed generosity to us.

Hi Gypsy, oh yes this is so emotive and moving, I would even say it has something of a subtle shock element. Written to the contest requirementsm, I like the spinning round association. Good luck, Giddy

What I liked about this was the contemporary image of the clothes in the clothes dryer; it is such an everyday routine, but it sort of underscores how those everyday mundane things can be moments of precious time with someone. you never know when you are going to lose them. It is quite a poignant moment in the poem. And I liked how you came up with a unique, personal kind of image for it. estory

:):) You are so creative. Brilliant wordplay. When your hands are full of dirty cloths, it's no surprise murderous thoughts seize you.:):) Thanks very much for sharing.

The author's words are interesting, clear and creative. I thought about
the theme of this poem and it made me smile! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is perfect as it makes a great point in the
last line! Have a great day!....Maria

Ouch. Your author's notes took this to a whole other depth! I was sidswiped by an unimaginable grief! Parents should never have to bury a child... Huge emotional impact here!

"Cruel Recurring Thoughts", is short, succinct and delightfully descriptive. It was a pleasure to both read and review this talented poet's work. I look forward to seeing your next post.

You captured the problem with negative thoughts - they do go round and round. It's clever to put "his clothes" as the constant reminder along with the cycling of the dryer. Great job with your

his last clothes in the drier (dryer)
Since it's supposed to address the loved one, I'd suggest changing the "his" to "your."

This piece is so thought-provoking - and touching. All the daily tasks we perform
- and never give a thought to - can suddenly become shards of glass that cut us to the core, when a loved one is gone. You have brilliantly highlighted the depth of grief in just three short lines.
