Great write June. Really enjoyed the wolf descriptions and the way you've used them to describe the positive and negative and which way we choose to go. Good work with this Empat poem,
cheers,
valda

This is a truly superb piece. Two wolves--one vicious and mean, the other a loyal, brave protector--brilliant. Yes, we DO have two sides, though some people won't admit it. Can you tell me the difference in this type of poem and a quatern?

Great use of the empat empat poetic form! I found your use of the symbolic "wolf inside" refreshing because you have a destructive one and a productive self-protecting one!

Excellent use of metaphor here, to illustrate the "beast" within. The wolf the perfect choice, as to save the lamb is to starve the wolf.

I am wondering how this poetic form differs the quatern, as it has the same descending first line, and rhyme scheme?

Anyway, a terrific poem with a lot of truth, June. :))

June,
This is an excellent poem. You compare your desires to the characteristics of a wolf, and it really works! Nice comparison/contrast.
The wolf is a very beautiful, misunderstood animal. You use this animal as a symbol.
Best wishes for the contest.

I think you're right in that simile, but one certainly isn't a Wolf, there is the ability to the divine, and then the sin nature, Romans 8 can explain it, we are born with the knowledge of the eternal in us Ecclesiastes 3:11, (Awareness of God, and mortality) we can either be a slave to sin, an a servant to the Spirit. We still have a choice, although I can choose to fall, I can also choose to be raised up. If I didn't believe I'd be denying grace. We can be the wolf in sheep's clothing, or, a Wolf in sheep's clothing, Mathew 7:15. Thanks June, Blessings Roy

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I did not mean we were the wolves, but that the evil born in us is like a wolf. However, when we refuse to feed it or give into it, the good in us prevails. Feed the good in us with Holy Spirit. I actually was thinking of the apostle Paul?s words in Romans.

I know what your trying to say, although Wolf is a little severe, it suggests a predatory nature. I don?t know too many who are ravening wolves, just have weaknesses June, sorry, I agree I?m not what I should be. But there is no desire to be a Wolf in me, merely a little self motivated. Please don?t be offended, watching those riots around Trump?s time, the Wolf was aroused in them.

This is beautiful the way you pointed out we have two sides to ourselves. Very good rhyme and presentation. Now, I will always think of the inner struggles I might have as which wolf I'm feeding.

Wow, this is such a beautiful and well written poem. We all have those alternate personalities inside of us, so I think just about everybody can relate to this poem. Thanks for sharing!

One reviewer was upset that I was comparing man to a wolf - when we are made in God's image. We are not the wolves, but the conflicting aspects of our personalities are. I am familiar with the scriptures he quoted - but apparently he was not familiar with the wolf analogy like you are. Thank you for your insightful review and exceptional rating!
