This true for most reporters: "Dutton saw the Channel 17 news helicopter fly directly over his head and knew they thrived on pure commotion." I like your metaphorical description of some of the characters. We had a math teacher 'nun' we aptly named 'Chipper' and she looked a chipmunk holding cheeks full of nuts. A great commentary on reporters.

I like Dutton's no nonsense character and attitude you potray. It is what you would expect if you were caught up in a situation. Enjoying your novellette Brett.

Appreciate you are and the nice review is spot on.

The bastard's head on a platter doesn't sound too appetizing to me. So, bring me the not-too-dried-out stuffed turkey, and cook Adler's butt in a pit, and serve it crisp skin and all to Zigler. Okay, so I'm nuts. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

Like your suggestions. May have to incorporate them into the novelette.

You need to notify me of your posts. They don't always get announced. This is a good story and I am loaded with phoney atm so happy to review. Look forward to the next chapter.

Will do. Got a lot of irons in the fire at the moment, but will get through them.

Good interaction between the 2 detectives and then the commissioner. And the usual attitude toward the press. I found this sentence and can not figure out what it is about. "Rawboned, a copper head stepped closer." Are you talking about a snake?

Hi Brett, this is a great continuation to your story. It's well written and it continues at pace. So much so that I can't wait to see what is happening next. All the best, Ulla :)))

As always, thanks. Appreciate the review.

This is another excellent chapter, Brett. I like the way you had Dutton deal with the press, despite his obvious contempt for their motives. Well done.

Detective Dutton has been assigned to the case and he can split it wide open if anyone can, according to police Commissioner Ziglar. But the hounding by the press is well handled by Dutton. But how does one corner a shape shifter. Well done, blessings Roy

A very written chapter. I wonder what year this story is placed in. You don't see detectives give impromptu interviews to media anymore, especially in big cities. Usually the police commander and higher or a specific public relations officer would only speak to the press.

As with any crime it is a media frenzy and they want tot sell paper and make a name for themselves. Dutten has very little patiende with the press but he doesn't mind hearing that he's the best. Looking forward to more.
