You are welcome, Bill, thanks for writing it. I didn't know Mastery well because I don't read that genre, but I read a few of his poems and shorter stories.

Oh my dear God. I did not know that his illness was that severe. My heart s completely broken at this sad news. Bob (Mastery) was one of my first friends here on FanStory. He taught me a lot about the craft, and i lovingly read each chapter of each book he submitted here on the site. I came to know, love and revere some of the characters he included in most of his books; Mo, Deckle, etc. I am going to miss Bob very much, he has become an integral part of my life, and just like that, he is gone. Mt sincere condolences to his family and I am sure, a host of friends.

Bob, will be missed. He was a great novelist, and I learned a great deal from not just reading his work but his reviews and messages giving me ideas and better ways to paint a world through words. I was a mess in the beginning and he let me have it, and then encouraged me to keep at it.

I don't know whether you remember from a few years back when Bob did his Santa Claus series around Christmas time. There might have only been a few chapters to it, but I can't find them on his portfolio. It showed an entirely different side of Bob.

Wonder if Fox and Felix will be as great at cracking cases as Cleve. This is a wonderful way to remember Mastery, who created such a memorable detective character. He will be missed.
