Thanks for this, Bill. A fine tribute to our Mastery! I am fortunate to have two of Cleve's novels, signed! He was a terrific writer. But what will happen in his last escapade? I've often thought that Cleve might settle down with Mo, move to a beach house in Florida and dodge hurricanes. We'll never know now. We can only guess. RIP Bob!
Cheers,

Thanks, Kimbob. We could petition some of our favored writers to get notes from Bob's estate and finish the last tale.
-
That would be a terrific idea, Bill, if his wife would agree to it.
-
I wish that could happen, Bill. There are enough novelists in Fanstory to get the job done. His last book should be finished.
Comment from Gloria ....
You did a terrific job of this tribute to, Mastery. I used to tell Bob from time, that Cleeve needed to be more attentive to Mo which you aptly captured in your line "Mo figured out she'd have to hire him to get his attention."
The poem using the title of his novels is genius.
A fine tribute, to a fine FanStorian. :))

Thanks, Gloria. Bob was a neat guy whom I wish I had gotten to meet.

I'm sure Bob would be honored by your creative poetry and references to his works. His passing is a sharp reminder to all of us "seniors" that the world, and FanStory, is a forever changing place.

Your prose and poem read like a mini movie. You have strong characters and I like how Felix does not know what a smartphone is. Are the words in color, titles of Mastery's books. The use of color adds to the strength of your poem. I am sure Mr.Hartson is watching with a smile.

A cleverly written piece. Nice job! I was engaged with the conversation and loved the poem at the end especially because it was unique to this piece. It sort of snuck in there.
Thanks for writing!

I don't believe that I had the privilege of knowing this very talented gentleman but from what I'm reading he seems to have been a great writer and friend. My condolences to his family and his fan story family as well.

That was a wonderful tribute to Bob, Bill. I especially liked the way you linked all his books in your poem tribute, too. Very cleverly done, I'm sure he's chuckling at that. I first got to know Bob when I was reading Falling up the Stairs. That was an amazing story, and he came through it all. I understand he had a full military funeral. That was so nice. Well done, Bill, you wrote a wonderful tribute. :) Sandra xx

Thanks, Sandra. Bob?s characters were well rounded and believable. He liked that noir aspect for sure.

Yes, he did. Ralf told me Bob had four more chapters to finish the book. I wondered if he had aready written them and just needed them to be edit before publishing. What do you think? Ralf said she'd ask Bob's wife. It would be a shame if the book, his final one, couldn't be published.
-
He got the bad guy arrested, but I think Deckle's (the homeless friend) situation was at yet unresolved.
-
He may have been going toclose the deal with Maureen as well.
-
Do you think he might have written the last chapters in rough drafts? I do hope so. I know of other authors who have died with work unfinished. I always think it keeps a part of your soul here if it's not complete. Silly, I know, but I hope it does get finished.
-
I think sometimes publishers or relatives hire ghost writers to complete a deceased author's story from his notes.
-
That might be a good suggestion for Ralf to put to Bob's widow. She has been in touch with her all the way through, so I think they must be friends.
