It is true that the wind is enigmatic. Itself it is invisible and so too is its source and its destination. In that sense, it has often been compared to the third person of the Trinity. The illustration and musicality of the poem complement each other well!

I live near the Windy City and sometimes the wind gets too wild for me; nevertheless, I can relate to the Speaker and how it gives her a sense of freedom. I especially like how the last stanza makes it a love poem as she invites her lover to dance with her. Rod

Thank you so much for your interesting review and I'm glad you like it. Yes, if wind becomes a storm it can be thrilling but dangerous.

Wow What a wonderful windswept happy poem this is. It takes me up and away to that joyous place. Really has an uplifting metre and gentle joy in the words.

This poem is a romantic linking of the narrator with the wind, one of nature's most potent and suggestive phenomena. Literature has many examples in which the wind is a symbol of bold and unreadable power. To be in love with the "wild wind" is to invite its powers and uncertainties eagerly into one's heart; doesn't it seem patent that the wind has brought to everyone, at some point, thrill, possibility, and menace? The movement of sound within the lines of this poem are susurrant and unrestrained by clunkier consonants; the poem's sonic movement is free like the wind. All of which establishes the poem's merits. Less impressive is the shortage of original images, and the final verse's invitation to dance, which seems to me to add a mandatory advertisement to the austere and elevated heart of the poem. Within the collection of poetry I have so far reviewed on fanstory, this poem stands out, even though I think that on a broader stage, world poetry, perhaps, it would not merit so high a mark as a five out of six.

Hi Gudbjorg,
I'm in love with the wild wind also... and yes, the freedom it has.

I enjoyed reading your poem and inspiration very much.

All the very best in this Nature's breath writing prompt... a good entry for sure.

With our thoughts we create...

Kind regards,
James.

Nice poem for the prompt. I was going to mark you down a little for the meter, but after I read it three or four times, I got a better flow, and I was gone with the wind.

I like you very charming poem. I also enjoy the wind and like the personifying of it in your poem. You have delightful imagery and rhyme. My only suggestion is that you might shorten the next to last line: 'Dance in a whirlwind of love,' to better maintain your meter. I really enjoyed your poem and could almost feel the wind blowing through my hair.
