Well written Erika. I loved the line about your chest swelling like a hundred year flood.
I think Asians are just the latest group to undergo an attack because of their ethnicity. There is no group of people that I know of who doesn't suffer from prejudice of some sort. I think as we grow further and further from a relationship with God, we will see more and more hatred and acts of violence. I've often mentioned before and I'm sure I will again, you can't plant grapes and grow tomatoes. God has set certain laws in order and they can't be overturned just because some us think they're offensive. There is a law of sowing and reaping, and it is as sure as the law of gravity. The civil disorder and hatred throughout the world is the direct result of rebellion against the Lord. If you want to get warm, get out of the shadows. Great story, well done.

Thank you for remembering the attacks on Asians these days. Unfortunately, some angry people are simple-minded and blame Asians for the virus and all their other griefs.

This is insane. The world does seem to be going crazy. How can anyone in their right mind feel justified attaching someone because they were born a different race. I will continue to pray from the human race but as long as people have hatred and fear in their hearts, these things will continue.

I hear you - I'm an elderly Asian. And I fear the hatred more than I did the virus. The insanity is out there and there is no vaccine against that. I just hope there are enough good people in the world to reach herd immunity - against racism...
