It turns out that the demolition has been postponed D-Day is May 29.

Great story! Yes, we sometimes call something art because someone said that it was art. I think the only valid test for art is:
1) Did it make you think?
2) Did it make you feel something? (Other than revulsion, of course)
If a piece can meet one or both of these criteria, then it's art - to that person.
I like your light approach to writing. It's so entertaining!

Great story! Yes, we sometimes call something art because someone said that it was art. I think the only valid test for art is:
1) Did it make you think?
2) Did it make you feel something? (Other than revulsion, of course)
If a piece can meet one or both of these criteria, then it's art - to that person.

Ahh... poor Scott. She won't likely bring her vacuum cleaner to him for service. At least, she didn't say she was the brain behind the idea. Your stories are always good for a laugh. Scotts seems to be pretty witty as well.

Wonder why the "art" in honor of Earth Week hasn't been removed. They do sound pretty unattractive. Funny that Scott was going on about the ugliness of the pieces in front of a woman from the planning committee. Maybe they needed more diversity among the committee members. I have no fondness for Earth Week. Some of those who moan the loudest about the environment probably don't even pick up the litter in their rooms. judi

That woman should be forced to stand in front of the art in question wearing a sandwich board saying, "I was on that project planning committee."
At the very least, she should promise to direct lots and lots of business Scott's way to compensate for the misery he suffered having to see the monstrosities.

Maybe this particular sculpture was an abstract expression for 'Clean up or clam up'!:) Looks like the members of the committee had their own individual ideas and in the end it has turned out to be a case pf 'too many cooks. I enjoyed the story. Cheers!
