You did a good job with your contest entry, Mystery Author. Your syllable count is correct per line. The color scheme works well as does the art choice. Your message is clear too even if it is scary. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

This poem is deep. Just a handful of words but you allow the reader to take the meaning of it in their own way. The artwork is unique and it enhances your poem very well. Good luck with the contest!

Hello, anonymous,

Good entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. It's sad. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Nice presentation. Good luck.

I found the author's words sad, thought provoking and creative. I
thought about the the words the author wrote and how I find the outcome
sad. The artwork is perfect and compliments both the theme and
words of this poem. Have a great day!

Whether a real prison or one of our own making, finding relief from escaping the chains of misery one might find peace in death. Wishing you the best. Smiles, Carol

Very well said, though if imprisoned and death is your sentence and is deserved, then mercy is not deserved, what a wonderful read, making the mind active, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Nice job with your prompt. You got the syllables right. The artwork looks great. It is true they say that staying is quite a torture that many prefer an escape from it. Good luck,

These are sad and poignant words and death is a relief for the sufferer of pain and is indeed a mercy in the end, sad but true words here, an honest write, love Dolly x

A very sad 5-7-5, but unfortunately that is the reality for many, maybe because of severe persecution or severe and painful illness, when death becomes a mercy. Best wishes for your entry.
