    Hello Teri,
Thanks so much for the kind review. I've always enjoyed the passage about Enoch walking with God and was not, because God took him. The photo was taken in Port Frederick, in front of Hoonah, Alaska. I lived there for 44 years and the scenery is spectacular. I see that you used two certificates for the poem, but I don't understand how they work. I'm fairly new to this and some of the things I find confusing. In any event, thank you for the review.
    Have a blessed day.

well, it mystifies me.
Do you believe that their year was the same length it is now?
I cannot believe that a human body could live that long and function.
I know we've been putting chemicals in our bodies for years, but even so.
This is a fascinating account. You are a real biblical scholar. very good.

My personal opinion is that the years were as long as now. If you see, there were relatively few generations between Adam and Enoch. I believe from a natural standpoint, they of necessity probably ate much healthier, more plants ect. I sat in on a science class once where I learned that plants absorb 100% of the nutrition from the sun. An animal that eats the plant only gets 10% of that nutrition. A person who eats the animal who eats the plant gets only 10% of that, so that may have something to do with it. From a spiritual point of view, I believe that as we become more and more distant from God, we experience the illnesses of modern day man. As the word says, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. I think we're reaping what we've sown, and it's showing up in more disease and shorter life. I'm sorry for the long drawn out explanation. Thanks for your review.

no, I appreciate it and your taking the time to explain.
I agree that we are bringing these bad things on ourselves, I just hope God won't let Covid or its next mutation wipe us out.

Ciao mystery poet..I gave you your third vote.

I have heard many stories from the bible and the name Enoch sounds familiar but I had no knowledge of his life ... who he was .

I found your narrative very compelling ..

This part really made an impression on me :

For at least 300 years, Enoch was walking with God faithfully and he must have pleased the Lord, because the bible says, Enoch walked with God and then was no more, because God took him away. Let me repeat that statement. Enoch walked with God and then was no more, because God took him away.

Keep safe!

You are the first person I have ever known to expound on Enoch and his relationship with our Living God. It was outstanding! It is amazing to think people even lived that long in those days and why Enoch was taken as he was will remain a mystery in our lifetime. You have brought this question to life and I appreciate it! Wow!

When I think about Enoch walking with God for 300 years, I try to imagine what that means. We know that God was with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden face to face until the Fall of Man! After this, no one is said to have looked on the face of God except his son, Jesus! Moses had to hide his face when he was getting the commandments made on Mt. Sinai. Also, Jesus in John6:46 says no one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only He has seen the Father. Therefore, I think that saying that Enoch walked with God for 300 years, I believe that is to be interpreted that Enoch had faith in God and believed that He existed. Much like Abraham being credited as righteous because of his faith. Also after Genesis 5:24, in my NIV Bible, it gives the following scriptures to show more about walking with God indicating their faith that he existed. Genesis 6:9, it is also said that Noah walked with God. Micah 6:8 to walk humbly with your God. Also, Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he didn't experience death. This is the same chapter in verse 1 that gives the Biblical definition of Faith!
Being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see! This is a great character to write about. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much for your review. I personally believe that it must have been that Enoch had more than just faith in God. I don't know that he saw his face, but he must have had a talking relationship that was more than just your average prayer life. I'm speculating, but there was something about him that pleased God enough that He took him to heaven. Thanks again for your review. God bless and keep you.

This is an interesting description of Enoch. He's not
someone I've thought much about before so it's interesting to read about him and what happened to him. Thanks for sharing this and have a great day

You're welcome Oliver, and thank you for the fine review. I've always loved the statement- Enoch walked with God and was not, because God took him. It's interesting that his son Methusula lived to be 969 years old, the oldest man recorded in the bible.
    Have a great day.

A lot of interesting questions are posed here, about a little known character. You are right to focus on the fact that he pleased God ... it leads immediately to us asking ourselves how we can please God and walk uprightly with Him. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for the review Wendy. I wish I understood more of why God took him. The word says that David was a man after God's own heart. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, Daniel experienced miracles and didn't let the threat of death dissuade him from speaking the truth and praying. What was different about Enoch?
Hopefully, I'll find out some day.
