This eight-word poem, Integrity Lost?, has the required word count and has us shaking our collective heads at what politicians will say or do to win.

I suppose you have to think pretty highly of yourself to begin with in order to want to be a politician, although I suppose some folks get into politics wanting to do the right thing. I'm sure it's an uphill battle if that's the case. Somewhere along the line, America got sold out. It's time to take back our country. Thanks for the kind review Bill. Hope your evening is pleasant.

Ah, words of wisdom ... and just eight of them! A nice, succinct but relevant commentary. I hope you do well in the contest. Wishing you the best of luck.

Thanks so much Linda for the good review and the good wishes. I took second place in the contest along with a few other folks. It is such an honor to be receiving that award. Have a great evening.

"Has the sun set on integrity in America?" That is a good question and a good entry for the 8 word contest. There certainly have been a lot of things going on that would make us ask this question.

    Hello Anne,
I know it must seem a cynical statement or question, and of course it's not all inclusive. Ultimately it's up to believers to be praying for this country and it's leaders. It's hard not to be discouraged, but we know who wins in the end. Thanks so much for your review.

You are welcome, Tom. Yes, the Lord is in control, and we need to pray for our countries and our leaders.

Amen! You wrote a thought-provoking question with this one-line (eight word) poem. I could not agree with you more about the divisiveness of the political parties. George Washington was against having the two party system because he knew that men would manipulate people and set people against each other. People have to stop believing the parties and realize that they are being manipulated! You have my vote! (for the poem and for reading my rant.)

Thanks so much. I'm afraid of where we're going in this country. God help us.

I like the picture... It is a beautiful sunset picture.

"Has the sun set on integrity in America?" Please excuse me for my comments. Lately America is losing its integrity. It is losing its allies like flies. We need integrity back...

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your review and comments. We seem to keep moving the goal post and each time we go further and further into the cess pool. It's scary where we're at now as a country. Blessings.

Nicely done. You chose your eight words right, with a nice font and background to match. Integrity is a somewhat important topic these days. Am glad u touched it!

Thank you for your review. Without integrity, anything goes, and where does that leave us?

Very short, and to the point. I can't comment on American politics, or at least, choose not to as I am not American, but it is sad to see as an outsider, the sadness and bitter division which seems to be so prominent in day to day life. Well written.

Thanks for your review. I understand your unwillingness to comment on the politics of the country. It's hard to watch my country take a nose dive.

I am wondering the same thing here as I hear of the unrest and discontentment. You had a strong leader who was trying to do good things for America, but they seem to have pushed the self-destruct button, a powerful one liner, love Dolly x

Thanks for your review. I'm not sure where we're going to end up after the smoke clears, but I don't expect a good outcome. We fought a civil war once, I hope it doesn't come to that again.

This 8 Word poem contest entry speaks the key issue of America and practice of American politics, that integrity is lost in every aspect; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

Thanks for your review. Much like a house, a country needs a strong foundation, and ours seems to be getting undermined by the powers that be.

Integrity left a long time ago. Your contest entry, Mystery Author, is well thought out. In a few words, your have zeroed in on a major problem with ramifications leading to the way our society is today. Best wishes.

Thank you Jan. I'm afraid you're right. Now the question is, have we got what it takes to return to the republic that our founding fathers delivered us?
