Great commentary on today's society. Where have we gone wrong? Life today is all about instant gratification with little to no thought about decency or consequences. Your well written poem illustrates this message with complete clarity. And it leaves me saddened. But like I say, well written.

It was your first stanza that made me take notice of your poignant poem:
" We spend our time listening to commercials
advertising cereal, cars, or pharmaceuticals.
We watch the ticker tape of the shares rising
instead of the sun in the early morning."
This truly spells out the unsettling state of our world.

I kind of felt the opposite, and that's always interesting to me, how other people can get a whole other reaction. I thought it got stronger towards the end. estory

Oh this is a great piece. It is sad and irritant, it makes us, mortals seem as fools. Beauty, I have been told comes from inside...the painting in the face fade away. A smile comes from the eyes. Sad Truths...

The ending is so very telling.
Delusion is never very gratifying, and
we are so very good at it.
I have noticed that the less I have, or
acquire...the happier I am.
This entire poem is so full of truths.

Excellent

The average person does spend their lives in hedonism these days. It is the sign of the times. My life has become much simpler and I'm glad for it. The Lord comes soon. Even now I think I'll give Him more time. I'll be spending eternity with Him. There's very little here for the Christian.

I think you will enjoy this series if you stick with it until the end. It is largely and loosely based on Revelations, so it will go through some dark patches, but it will end up in the light of the second coming. estory
