Why is that Mr. Frost such a hard nose? I guess this part of the story does happen as a non fiction story, too, today. But when rumors are started that are not true, its unacceptable.

It is nice to know what bothered the dogs. It is hard to find something unique to say. You have again moved your story along beautifully. Again, I appreciate your use of space and the font you choose.

I thought this was a great chapter; maybe the best you've done so far. The dialogue in this little conference between Katherine and Gabe and the principle was full of tension, and it was realistic and we really see Katherine kind of keeping her distance from Gabe here, trying to hold herself at arm's length, while he seems really, under the surface, interested in her and reading between the lines, disappointed with her reaction. Frost is really a nasty type. But these things happen today, and I thought you did a great job keeping this real and dilineating this single mom trying to raise her kids and do her job in a difficult situation. estory

Whoa. So Frost is STILL in the picture? C'mon! I am really starting to hate this guy. And that explains why the dogs were barking. Nice! Cased closed on that mystery. But I think Gabriel and Katherine are okay; they're only friends... so far, lol! I can't wait to read the next chapter! (And what is a P.I, LOL?)

So finally we get to know what was troubling the dogs .I used to wrack my brains what it could be !
The conversation inside Mr Edwards office was well handled. It is not fair that Kate's movement has to be under scanner just because she is new in a place...
What if both of them genuinely want to have a relationship?
Waiting for the next...

Gripping! Dialog is spot-on--deepening relationship continually enriched through shared experiences and revelations.

Great chapter. The question of what the dogs see is answered at last.
The reveal is well done, and yet I feel Katherine's anger that she wasn't told before the principal. There's also a cute moment where a teacher feels fear being called to the principal's office.
One small suggestion. Its been a few chapters since Frost was mentioned and I had to look him up in the list of character's below. Perhaps an inserted descriptor somewhere like "why would the head of the math department hire a PI?" or something along those lines. A very small point and the chapter is fine without it.

I will consider that. Frost has been fired because of the behavior he exhibited toward Katherine. Thank you for the kind review.

Dear barbara, so now we know what the dogs were barking at, and who hired this private investigator.
But the question still stands. What motive does Mr. Frost have, to take this sort of action? I hope you answer this question soon, or Catherine and Gabe can't even have lunch together in the school cafeteria.

If you had followed the story from the beginning that question would have been answered. Frost has some issues and they are pointed at Katherine because she's a woman. Thank you for the kind review.

-That is quite an image, Barbara.
-A good chapter that clears up
what has been bothering the dogs
while Gabe and Katherine jog.
-It seems likely that it would
have been Frost; he obviously has problems.
-The scene in Edward's office was well
done as each person shared what they knew
and/or how the felt about it.
-Katherine always seems to be the
last to know, but I am guessing the
two men want to protect her while
trying to balance any personal feelings
they may have about her and the
whole thing with Frost.
-He is the type you have to be
really careful about.
-I look forward to knowing
what the important question is!
-Well done!

Katherine does need to be careful. She is leaving herself open to gossip and lies is she keeps spending so much time with Gabriel. If Frost can dig for dirt, others may buy it. I've stated that I things she needs to cool it with Gabe, although he is very persistent, and concentrate on her job and getting settled in. If she's all in for Gabe, the best thing would be for her to find a job elsewhere. He is good with the boys, but she has to be careful. As a new teacher, she's going to be judged, and not just by Frost. Great writing. judi
