'An Unwanted Message', is an extremely well-written and heart-wrenching piece. There was certainly a punch in this talented poet's work. Good luck with the contest! I hope you do well.

Your narrative poem is well told, vividly descriptive and so sad, conveying a message about "This dream, not a dream." It is an excellent entry for this contest.

I hope this isn't a true story, However, if it is, I trust your skill as a poet helped you heal. As for the dream, those things do happen. Is life just a dream? Very well written and I like your rhyming scheme.

Susan, Yes, my siblings and I were all at college when the accident occurred. Dreams are the opportunity for us to open to our inner voice and ne alert to messages that come in our nighttime slumber.

That is a very clever poem, albeit a very sad one. When a dream becomes such a horrific reality, it almost makes one afraid to sleep. I hope it is not a true story. Very well written, so good wishes for the contest.

Wendy, dreams are, I believe, just another dimension that we are given insights to our lives that we would otherwise ignore.

Yes, those dreams--premonitions--are frightful and foreboding. You did a great job with your contest entry, Mystery Author. I like the monorhyme of each verse. Your lines read well with and create great imagery. The image is supportive. Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Dreams are the gateway to the soul, so they say. I hope this is fiction! What a wonderfully written poem.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

You carry the story through the poem well with your use of monorhyme stanzas. Your dream's premonition is delivered with drama and tension. "Who is crossing heavens archway?" has a distressing answer.
One minor correction: dad should be Dad.

Not sure if this was a dream that came true or a dream that put one on defense, awaiting for something like that to happen. I do know that our fears can manifest themselves in our dreams. That happens often I think. The form of the poem is good with the mono-rhymes in each stanza.

Strong entry.

This is such an eerie write and more like a nightmare, did this really happen? If so, I am so sorry for your loss and to dream of seeing a crash and then finding it involved a loved one must have been terrifying, a life changing dream, love Dolly x

Dolly, regrettably yes! My siblings and I were all in college and mom and dad were vacationing, I have paid very close attention to my night messengers ever sense.
