Hello Poet,
You've written an excellent Tyburn poem for the contest
with very good word choices and rhymes.
The last two lines not only read well, but make sense,
something many entries lack.

Robert, thank you. I confess this Tyburn poetic style is quite more challenging than first look. This is my first completed poem that I felt warranted a review. I appreciate the good wishes.

To me the tyburn is a very challenging form--not only working in all the rhymes, but creating a smooth flow. You have done it, with well-chosen words, while conveying a coherent message.

This is a competently constructed Tyburn poem, adhering to contest format requirements. The action words fit well together describing the activities in a relatively unforced manner, something that other entries sometimes have difficulties with.

Hi LisaMay, I have found Tyburn poems to be quite difficult and this is one of the first I felt was worthy of review.

The author's words are different, descriptive and creative. I found the words of this poem to be interesting. The poem flows and connects well.

Nobody seems to mend anything anymore, clothes ate so cheap to make these days that people either give them to op shops, or consign them to the Rag bin. We always had needle and thread when I was young. A beautifully written tyburn, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

This is not an easy format and you've succeeded in creating a piece that has great rhythm and rhyme- plus makes sense! Some can sound very awkward and contrived. Well done!

June, thank you so much! I agree this is the first time I felt had something worthy of being read. While is sounds so easy to do a Tyburn, I find this is no so for me.
