A knock on the door is always polite. The teachers must be getting their class schedule in sequence. It sounds like the teachers are getting together for class meetings except Mr. Frost. Where is he?

Barbara:

This is another good chapter. It popped up in my message section
so I decided to go ahead and review it. It gives me a better
perspective on where you're going with this.

Thanks for sharing. Rdfrdmom2

-Good artwork, Barb, but
it is beyond me what to do with it:)
-A good story that centers around it.
-You describe the typical first day
of teaching meetings and schedules
very well. I taught H.S. English and
took an early retirement in 2001.
-I'm glad Katherine didn't have 5
different subjects; that would have
been tough.
-The mood is pleasant, and everyone
seems relaxed.
-But there is still the mystery of what
the issue is that the dogs keep hearing
on the morning walk; I keep thinking
something is going to happen
once Gabe leaves!
-Well done; have a great New Year!

You are very welcome, Barbara. Congratulations to you on the upcoming retirement. I haven't forgotten my reaction when I finally did after 29 years. How many will you have?

14 here in Texas, but 26 total. I stayed home when my boys were little.

That is a good career, about the same as mine.

I like the gentle way the romance is taking place. Though Katherine may still be denying it, she is kind of getting hooked on Gabe little-by-little. He certainly seems eager to please her and protect her too. With the unknown threat lurking in the shadows, that could be a good thing.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Ooh... I knew it! He's growing on her! Aww, it's so sweet to see these two in action; when they're talking or laughing. That last part: Chuckling he realized his error. "Of course you. I'd never forget you." He avoided eye contact... My heart swelled at that moment! HA! I can't wait to see what else these two do! And, the mysterious 'click' they heard... it's stumped me. It's not Frost, so who is it? And I noticed a few errors:

(")The Social Studies department has a lot of students signed up this year. I'm not sure why the increase, but we have a staff member, who can cover that. Coach Hudson, would you prefer to teach US History, or Government?"

He put (this) hand on the small of her back. (I think I told you about this error, but I saw it again, so... :)

Can't wait to read the next chapter! Super excited!

I am thoroughly enjoying this story. The plot continues to move along. The school days are bringing back great memories, and makes me feel younger! ha ha

Another very well written (FS) chapter. it is nice and even paced. I was wondering why after Katherine's alarm sounded, Gabe just made sure she entered the house. You know, what about the inside. It didn't seem to matter.

I am pretty sure she didn't go down the basement. LOL Although we rarely have basements in Texas. Thank you for the kind review.

You have a nice way of ending each chapter leaving the reader wanting more. This entry is more subtle, but it's there.
I enjoyed this chapter - the plot moved forward and the characters became more established.
It has nothing to do with the plot, but I got a little chuckle over a math teacher miscounting how many classes she had to teach.

On her original schedule there were 5 classes. They'd changed her schedule. Thank you for the kind review.

Dear barbara, I really appreciate it this informational post as you call it, and I didn't mind the length of this chapter because I can see that several things needed to be set in place. ( For example the house across the street that the dogs keep growing at ) for the next chapters to make sense.
As always, your writing is excellent!
