Hi Mark ... Well-put: ice formations on glass do look cryptic, but it takes a true poet to point this out so colorfully and witty. I'm betting on you to win.

    Linda,

    THANK YOU for your belief in the other reviewers opinions, but this is NOT a contest entry. Sometimes, I just want to post. Other times I may keep my effort in preview to be released for an appropriate contest. Regardless, I greatly appreciate your belief in the quality of my free post. Your extra star is my bonus for today!

That's fantastic artwork, Mark. Did it come first, or your Haiku?
When my parents moved my bedroom into the attic many many moons ago, I used to enjoy the designs Jack Frost would leave during the night. I always thought he was quite an artist. You compare him to a spy, skulking around in the darkness. Is he a bad guy? Does he have an ulterior motive? Is he a mad artist? He sure does have talent, though. Needless to say, my new bedroom was pretty cold. And my bronchial tubes paid for it. My parents had to do something. It wasn't just me and my sister anymore. Peter had come along. And then there was Craig. Four kids and two bedrooms.
I like the continuance of "spy" with "messages" and "secrets".
I'm inspired to write,
Jack Frost, the spy, writes
bedtime messages in white ...
secrets etched at night

I enjoyed your poem, and the exercise!
Cheers,
Kimbob

    Again Kimbob you created a terrific alternative to my post. I believe Jack Frost lives outside, but sometimes you can scratch away his secret writings from the inside of your bedroom windowpanes (-;

    THANKS for your support for my mini spy story.

I love this, Mark. It's outstanding. Why didn't you enter it in the contest? It's good enough to win. I think I would have said "secrets fade with light."
That's what happens when the sun hits the window.
Anyway, good job for sure.

    Debbie,

    My last line was almost as you stated. I had toyed with: secrets fade from sight. Do you have a preference for either version or using ?with? for my original?

    I liked it and there was no current contest to enter, so I posted it rather than keeping the poem in preview. Maybe, I will just pump its visibility with FS funny monies so I will be recognized!

    I still vote for the word "light." That's when the words fade. Light destroys the messages.
    I'd pump the poem up. You could get nominated for poem of the month (I think. I really don't know how that works.)

So few words, yet I am drawn in by the prospect of learning what these secrets might be. The artwork also seems to be conspiring with the spy. Delightful!

    Hi Terrapin (?) Swimmer!

    So pleased you enjoyed this poem presentation. Maybe that ice maiden Mata Hari is in cahoots with Jack Frost (-;

I remember doing that too - with the lemon water. Jack Frost's messages can be things of great beauty. We don't see them so much nowadays, thanks to double, and even triple, glazing,

    Yes, those memories are wonderful. At my visit to the Washington, DC Spy Museum, the secret agents employed ingenious methods to hide their secret messages. Pleased you like my simpler rendition.

Yes it's a childhood moment to recall - Jack Frost and his 'artwork' portrayed and remembered fondly here and with a lovely visual to complement -thanks for sharing

    Zanya,

    We did do those fun things. Jack Frost has been employing this trick longer.

    So pleased you enjoyed my total presentation.

This type of invisible writing is a new one to me. The poem is well written and the Fan Art is a fitting complement. The rhyming works well too. The words paint a striking image.

    Hi Susan!

    May not be too late to try this invisible writing experiment (-; Pleased you liked my total presentation. Rhymes were just an accidental coincidence in penning my poem.
