It is interesting how you use the word 'to'. I works as a stressed syllable in the line of trochaic substitution in the final quatrain and as an unstressed one in the iambic line that begins the final couplet.
In line 4 you might consider 'as best I could'. That is the way I am used to but this could be a cultural difference. It is not really important.
