This free verse, On Watching October, is filled with poetic glimpses of the scenery which ignites the passions as the world dwindles down with style.

A very well-written free verse poem about autumn and it's beauty that we see and the changes in nature that we adore with dreams in our hearts before the long winter takes its place.
NS under the topic Social you will find clubs. There are several clubs you can choose from. Free verse, picture this, and potlatch where we explore and learn different formats of poetry.

I always think Autumn is a time for reflection as we see this season prepare for winter, there is little sadness as the days are shorter and the nights longer, your words paint a picture of nature succumbing to the season's changes, much enjoyed Laurie, love Dolly x

For not being adept at free verse, this is exceedingly well written. Makes me wonder what your meter looks like. Lush descriptions, this had a free falling flow that had a sense of urgency. That was unique.
An easy fiver.

Poem written with feelings and precise words of Autumn. Many of them describe mental worlds full of sensations, crowned with a magic rhyming play. Artwork chosen is a poem itself, with Autumn colours that fits perfectly with writing. Thanks for sharing your internal poetry!

You are right. Fall is too short, but then we don't have much winter. Where I live it's pretty much 80% summer and 20% it can't make up its mind what it is. I can see, though, that people who face harsh winters would really dread to see beautiful fall take leave.
Your words paint vivid pictures - I could see them in my mind. The lines melded beautifully, describing scenes of departing beauty. I especially like the last two lines. Lovely.

Thank so very much for your time and kind review! Yes, it's a rough road when you see four to five months of snow headed your way! Enjoy your short winter season! Thanks again.

I truly like the reality that you have written into this free verse poem. For a first time poem, it is natural. This reads really well and has so much of the style of Autumn in it. I enjoyed it and think you did a great job.

Beautiful poem, capturing everything about autumn with a nostalgic nod to the season just past, and preparing the reader for the next season to come. Very best wishes for the contest.

Paints a vivid picture of Autumn. I have never tried free verse, but you have done this well. I really like those last two lines, sums up the whole picture.

So kind of you to review, Anne. Yes, free verse poses so many challenges to me; it's so much more my style to follow the rules on meter and rhyme. But this was fun. You should try it!

I am just getting started on here so will have to take some time to try other types of poetry.
