Congrats on your prize for this thoughtful poem--wise message elegantly conveyed--alliteration--soothe/soul. Missed the release; glad I caught up. Cheers. LIZ

Sigh.... yep, that's the reaction your gentle and wise offering here has on your reader, Melissa - beautifully formatted and sagely stated! ;) I would say that if more folks had this on their walls as a reminder, there'd be a lot fewer stressed people out there! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

Melissa, I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. Wanted things that are out of reach causes one bitterness and discontent.
And, I alway think if a person loses all they have, at the time, they'd be grateful just to get it back.
Lovely poem,
Melissa.
Good luck in the contest.
Cindy

Absolutely excellent advice, Melissa. People who think they'll find happiness through a multitude of material possessions rarely do. It seems our nature is to want more, the more we have. That also goes for non-material things, too. We are better off setting our sights low as far as desires go, then we are less likely to be disappointed.

Love the simple directness of your words, and the feeling is enhanced by the excellent choice of image.

Great job, best of luck in the contest.

Craig

Absolutely true, and so well voiced, my friend. This is a supreme spiritual teaching, and I like the combination of soft C in peace and alliteration and consonance of S having a fine counterpoint, musically, with the consonance of T. Bravo.

LOVE the presentation.l Tasteful and impacting.

Serene.
Strong entry. Good luck!

Hugs,
rd

What a beautiful, but truthful statement. It is the small things in life, the laughter, the love that we share with our family that truly matters. Your artwork is perfect for the poem.
