Wow, am I with you all the way. You must be a conservative, an intelligent one at that. Our country is in bad trouble, too many dependents, too many spoiled children, too many who think our country is awful and looks back too far. Too many politicians who become millionaires in the process of trying to run our country. Too many cheaters and people with no conscience. Too many abortions, God is not happy with us. I could go on and on but you know where I am at.

The beauty of the piece is each "I Believe" is the beginning of discussions which two of far different political leanings could have and find common ground with. I takes a bit of courage to lay out what your opinions are on a site like this. Most will praise. Some may tear you to shreds... I agree that there is room in this world for a myriad of views on many topics...

It really all boils down to faith, and here is where the country is going wrong. We no longer accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior as a nation. We did before WWII. Not anymore. Now its all about personal rights, and me, me, me. We were put on this earth to glorify God, through respect and serving each other. For most people, its about me, me, me. I take issue with your last point. I'm not American and this is an international site... but I get your point. I prefer to think of us as humans of the same race and not arbitrarily split up by some manmade distinction on a map. This is one of the biggest issues I have in my beliefs.
Folk say they believe in a lot of things but when it comes down to it, they don't. they believe in a version of what is espoused.
This is a fine piece which may do very well come the judging.

It is a disgrace that so much money was poured into the Democratic senate races (like for those who ran against Lindsay Graham and Susan Collins) only to have their candidates lose. Seems like it's okay for one party to raise scads of money but not the other. You're right, we should look for qualities other than who we like the best in choosing a candidate. Excellent comments all the way through, and well expressed! Very impressive. judi
