Lovely descriptions of the seasons Michael and wonderful metaphor of life. Life certainly has its seasons as well.
Youth, adulthood, middle age and old age.
I like the old age one....
I turn and I grasp you! We will walk along together I will regale you with tales of Spring and Summer yes, even tales of Fall you are acquainted, but you may not know her as I do
as I speak I see my breath invade the air, I am alive!
YES! I am alive! I can tell the young people what I learned in the before mentioned seasons of life. Love life! Good Job. xxx Nancy

Michael:
The seasons change and the Vikings are in Mankato, MN, practicing football. School is starting soon. Live football is so much better than tv football. Minneapolis is going to spend $19 billion to connect downtown to the ball field in Eden Prairie. This is important game for those up North in my state, Minnesota, USA.

I love your free poem with your seasons being so cleaver and descriptive. I like your winter with the breathe of life and tales of past and future seasons. I think that we are all excited to run in the spring after the winter whites. Great writing...read all of it many times. It is like a diamond glistening and shining with images each taking time to look at.

Michael, excellent, awesome, what a great poem!

Winter is an unpredictable state of mind in itself, it bares no growth until the spring thaw yet it still has a beauty about it somehow we tend to forget winter is here for most times a short spell. So much beauty can be found when one looks around, the cold, crisp air to breath in, everything has a beautiful blanket of snow and icicles look like diamonds hanging when the sun shines on them.

Lovely Poem. Guess you lover Summer huh! We love Spring and (Fall) Autumn. Sunny day with that hint of cool breezes. But then we need all the Seasons to brign it all together huh! Thanks mate. One thing I always missed was being able to walk with my sweetheart and hold hands. A bit difficult with her on crutches in the old days or now in her wheelchair.

What a fascinating visual scheme. I love how you leapt about the page while describing each season. The whole piece has a very uplifting rhythm and soars straight through the seasons.
I particularly like free verse because it allows you to bend some the style rules, if not break them right off and for someone that can't write poetry worth a dang, it makes it easier to review.
Great job on this piece. I found it entertaining and visually appealing.
Good luck in the contest.

This is beyond superb and deserves 6 stars, but as usual, I am out...sorry. Beautifully written and so artistically presented. I love poems about the seasons but your truly outdid yourself with this one. Marvelous entry for this contest and I wish you all the best.

I thought this was just about perfect! I love the way you've used the formatting to enhance the message of the poem. I also loved the way you've used the seasons as a metaphor for the seasons of life. This has been done before, of course, but not, I think, in such a personalized, unique manner. Congratulations on a job so well done!

You started out with Spring. Life springs forward. Life is mature in the Summer. Fall means life is ending. Bur we are graced with brilliant colors. Winter is when live slumbers. But you will not let it get you down. You will remember the other seasons and wait Winter out. Great work.
