World Affairs Under Trump
1. 'Drill, baby, drill!' American will emit more CO2 and worsen the global warming/climate change situation than it ever has. All to the chagrin of the international community.
2. 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods, for which the latter two nations will surely retaliate in kind. And the American consumers and local businesses suffer economically.
3. Mass, forced deportations of millions of (hardworking) illegals--along with their 'legal' family members (to keep families together). This would cause local law enforcement chaos and worsen the socio-economic plight of folks from Central and South American ravaged nations.
4. Give Hamas an ultimatum to release hostages (especially the American ones), for which Hamas will not comply, leading to America's increased involvement in that regional conflict, that will then force Iran's hands further (whatever that may mean/look like). And half of all hell breaks loose!
5. Cuts off much monetary and military aid to Ukraine, urging it to cede much of its eastern and south-eastern territories to Russia (along with permanently losing Crimea), for which Ukraine will not happily accept. NATO and Europe will continue to support Ukraine in its fight, which will cause a rift between they and the U.S. Ukraine, continued to be backed by NATO and Europe, will not back down, leading Russia to escalate affairs. The other half of hell breaks loose!
6. Having no direct interests to protect in either the Sudan or more recent Syria conflicts, the U.S. will sit back and allow those nations implode.
7. China will continue its very careful watch to assess when best to make its stranglehold on Taiwan.
All the while playing in the global background will be Louis Armstrong's 'What A Wonderful World!' ...
RE: World Affairs Under Trump
This is a very good summary of the CNN echo chamber. Short-sighted/uninformed analysis on most points.
RE: World Affairs Under Trump
Instead of just being insulting, the adult thing to do would be to provide reasons for your dissent.
RE: World Affairs Under Trump
Not sure who CD is addressing. It's another six weeks before Trump takes office. Doesn't it make more sense to talk about what the current President still in office is doing RIGHT NOW?
-breaking his promise not to pardon Hunter
-discussing preemptive pardons for everyone else
-boasting about arresting someone for "smuggling potent greenhouse gasses"
-federalizing airlines, forcing them to lodge travelers when they opt to fly during bad weather
RE: World Affairs Under Trump
Not sure, Harambe? Let me make it clear then. I was addressing the person who resorts to the primary-grade tactics of lambasting another POV without demonstrating they've actually put enough thought into it to have a reasoned response. I see this multiple times daily, and it grows very tiresome.
RE: World Affairs Under Trump
Well, time will shortly tell how short-sighted/uninformed, or, indeed, valid, my claims/assertions are.
I dare purport (love that word, by the way, as it sounds like a senior level verbal fart) that what has given Putin and the Syrian rebels the impetus (another oral doozy that cuts the cheese) to recently mobilize and strike, as they have, is the imminent entry of Trump to the U.S. presidency.
Putin and the Syrian rebels know that Trump will not intervene against them. This is their chance bto grab what they can.
Syria will soon resemble Afghanistan 2.0--with strict Sharia law and the undermining of women/minorities/progressive values prevalent.
Grab your popcorns (while they're still affordable) and don't blink; these next 4 years are gonna be a 'good' one...
RE: World Affairs Under Trump
President-elect Donald Trump is acknowledging it may be difficult to bring down grocery prices, despite making it a key tenet of his presidential campaign. Oops you mean Trump fibbed? Who ever would've guessed. Actually groceries are predicted to go up by 5%. Lie much?
Okay now Elon where are you going to find that $2 trillion in waste so you can have it for yourself to populate Mars where you have admitted people are going to die? What's in it for us said the oysters to the Donald and the Carpenter.
And why the heck would people put an alcoholic in as the Secretary of Defense? Alcoholics like Hegseth are impulsive, dangerous and worse. They'll blow you to bits during one of their blackout drinking binges and then forget they even did it.
