RE: Downloading Pictures

Hi Steve,
you are very patient. lol

When I download my selected picture from my file it appears as a thumbnail in the grey download box on the left hand side, also in that box is a red x on the right hand side. It is when I press the download button under the grey box to go to the verify page that my picture does not appear. I have tried to use pictures I have used before, as well as making sure they are the right format and size. I have even used pictures that I know are not compatible, and I get a message to say that this file is not valid, which doesn't happen with a proper formatted picture.
It is getting the picture from the FS download page in the grey box, to the verify page, that is the problem.
I hope this makes sense.x

It's possible the issue is with your computer. Do you have access to another one, or a smart phone/tablet you could use to check? If not, you could try installing a different browser to test with.

A couple of things to try:

Make sure your browser is up to date. (how to do this will depend on your browser.)

Make sure Flash and Java are both up to date. (I don't know if FS uses them to upload photos, but it's good to keep them up to date anyway.)

Can virus scanners or ad-blockers prevent uploads? I'm not sure, but you could try adding FS to the exclusion list to see. (Again, how to do that will depend on what you're using.)

OK, that's weird. I must have misread your previous post.

So what do you get on the screen after you press the Upload button?

Hi Steve,
after I press the upload button it goes to the verify page and offers two options= click yes if you see your picture, or click no to try again. My picture is not there, so I press try again which takes me back to the beginning of the process.

Hi Dashjianta,
I have just invested in a new laptop which is being programmed for me and will be arriving in the next couple of days, so hopefully I will be able to do my downloading from that. I cannot think of any other reason why I cannot work from this computer than what you have suggested so I will be getting this one looked at, and hopefully sorted.
Thank you for trying to help.

Just an update on my problem with downloading pictures with my poems. Today I spent £800 on a new laptop. The first and only thing I did when I got home was to download one picture from the internet into my new pictures folder and then signed into my Fanstory account. I went to post a poem and followed the download instructions to the latter. Unfortunately The problem I am having is still there. I cannot get any further than the very page because my picture will not be accepted by fanstory. I have tried all formats, all sizes and a bramnd new computer so I can only assume that the problem cannot be at my end. The Fastory instructions could not be any easier or clearer to follow and I am 100% certain that I am doing it correctly because there is only one way to do it.
I am at my wits end and at a loss as to what to do next. I would like to post more poetry but if I cannot use the posting facilities in the same way as other members without issue then I might have to re-think my membership here. This makes me very sad.
Thank you to all those who have tried to help, I really appreciate your efforts.

This is truly strange - it sounds almost as if the site has taken exception to your IP address or something...

One last thing to try...

What happens if you select 'Yes' even if you can't actually see your picture?

Hi Steve,
yes I have tried that and it then accepts the cross as my downloaded picture. lol Perhaps I should get back to Tom and see if he can take a further look at his end. Maybe closing my account and then reopening might help. Who knows?
