RE: JoJo's Latest Screw Of American Taxpayers
I don't understand how anyone can ignore Biden's incompetence. If Trump had done just one thing he's done, you would have crucified him. Not that that isn't happening anyway, even with him out of office. It's a fact that Biden has left many Americans behind in Afghanistan who fear for their lives, IF they're still alive. There are to many things to list here, and I don't have the time or the inclination to keep a running argument about. (Sorry. Texting makes everything sound so harsh.)

RE: JoJo's Latest Screw Of American Taxpayers

In the 3 months (almost) since the fall of Afghanistan, many Americans are stranded there with little, or no hope of getting out (at least with the help of POTUS). Yes, help to evacuate by a private citizen may help some, but what about the others? Not all of them are willing to stay (there may be a few who are).

It seems out of sight out of mind to the current admin.

Yvonne, it's not the texting that
makes it sound harsh...

it's the actions that biden did in Afghanistan that was harsh...
leaving those soldiers for the Taliban to torture/kill...
but in reality...he is not the one calling the shots...
he is just being used as a puppet for what's going on in
our country now...

Yvonne, with all due respect, no one- not one person has ignored or not held Biden for the debacle in Afghanistan. This is one of the very reasons his approval numbers have tanked. I have said many times he made a very bad decision by not listening to his military advisors and he is paying dearly for it.

I feel what you are failing to take into account is a certain fact about Trump. You still seem to resist that Trump created a very serious order concerning Afghanistan. I am asking all of you, why do you not hold him partially responsible for this?

Let me remind all of you
On November 11, 2020 there was a memo sent to Patel and Milley

November 11,2020 Memorandum for Acting Security of Defense: Withdrawal from Somalia and Afghanistan

" I hereby direct you to withdraw all U.S. forces from the Federal Republic of Somalia no later than 31December 2020 and from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan no later than 15 January 2021. Inform all allies and partner forces of the directive. Please confirm receipt of this order. Signed President Donald Trump

He had been trying to get a full withdrawal from Afghanistan his whole Presidency.

He signed something which concerned military operations and he did so, without the due diligence and military advice of which Milley was to give him by law. Even the National Security advisor stated he knew nothing about this. Neither the National Security Counsel, the staff secretary or the White House Counsel had been involved or consulted. It was a military directive from Trump.

When confronted by his peers, he agreed to have a Principal Meeting with his advisors, but the damage had already been done.

He was the very one who struck a deal with the Taliban. Not Biden. Trump left out the Afghan government in this deal. He gave the Taliban a date of withdrawal. The deal of course meant no more attacking of our troops. After the deal, political assassination by the Taliban began taking place toward Afghans government officials and political activists of Afghanistan- namely women. It escakated from there.

I find it puzzling that you refuse to see this. Yes, Biden was the Commander in Chief from January 20th onward. Trump absolutely refused a smooth transition of power and kept Biden from being advised about anything. He continued to tout his big lie, fraudulent election.

Was he concerned about Afghanistan then and his deal with the Taliban? Why didn?t he- once he made a deal with the Taliban start being proactive and involving Congress to start prepping the drawdown.

I don?t know about you, but if someone made a deal with me that something by a certain date would be done, I would start preparations immediately. Why didn?t he, especially knowing the Taliban reputation and power and knowing full well our military could be sitting targets unless he delivered.

What many of us fail to understand, transition of power from one President to the other is one of the most fragile and vulnerable positions in the United States.

However, given what Biden was up against, though it is reported he sought advice from his National Security advisors, he did ignore it. He has long been a proponent of ending a very expensive war which could not be won.Loss of lives and the wounded were always a certainty, whether military or civilian. Lives were being lost daily. The cost was astronomical. And it is still astronomical as we strive to assist our wounded veterans and their families( as we should). Who knows what he was thinking, who knows.

It was evident he was between a rock and a hard place. If he didn?t withdraw, as Trump had made the Taliban deal, there would have been a huge uptake in military casualties. I am talking about our sons and our daughters. Our Fathers and our Mothers.

The Taliban already had a stronghold! Otherwise, why would Trump have felt the need to make a deal with them.

Our military spent twenty years trying to build an Afghan force who could withstand the brunt of these radical ideological madmen, but there was not 100 percent cooperation on the Afghanis and their government. Some report there was a lot of corruption at the higher levels of leadership.

Please don?t get me wrong- the last days at the airport where our servicemen lost their lives was tragic and will forever go down as a blot against Biden. But let us, also, not for get the other 2600 who lost their lives fighting a losing battle. My heart goes out to each and every one of them, plus the thousands of Afghanistan who just wanted a better world and to live their lives.

So please, try and look at this from another perspective. None of us have forgotten this constant struggle amid all the other issues we are facing. None of us have. Just because it hasn?t been mentioned in this forum thread, does not mean we have forgotten.

Though many are still left, rest assured- Biden and his administration must do something. We NEED to demand that he does this. We are not helpless, you guys! We can organize a plea and write letters to our Congress and every representative in our state. If you haven?t done this, then why? If you feel so angered and passionate about it- do something! We live in a democracy!

And for goodness sake, please-, do not say this would have never happened under Trump?s watch. That is just a biased assumption and truly based on his history of dealings- it might have been a lot worse- but we will never know- will we? After all- he called everyone of his National Security Advisors and Military Advisors fucking morons. I am sorry if those words offend you but Trump said it relentlessly.

You guys have a beautiful day. I mean no offense nor am trying to anger you. I just wanted to impart information which might allow you to see things a little differently. I am not taking up for Biden. I feel he reacted too quickly and failed to take into account many things. But we will never know the full machinery around decisions which were laid at his feet.

I hope we are successful at helping those who need and want to get out without anymore collateral damage.

Yeah because the headwinds dont favor supporting Biden any longer...
Let me remind you...not one American was killed by Taliban under Trumps charge.
And what kind of Commander and Chief leaves millions in technology, weaponry, and Americans behind to be exploited by the enemy...an incompetent one.
Under Trumps command We prospered under bidens We are in eminent danger of becoming prisoners in Our own land of the free.
Biden has done what no other President could have, ...uniting all Americans under the banner of freedom...I'll give him credit for turning moderate Democrats into independent thinkers. Bravo Joe

RE: JoJo's Latest Screw Of American Taxpayers
That?s not true Recon, not true at all.

Would you like to repeat that lie?

In fact, 11 U.S. service members were killed in Afghanistan last year, including four in combat, according to the Defense Casualty Analysis System. Twenty-three service members were killed in Afghanistan in 2019, including 17 in combat.

The difference between you and I.

I have no problem, whatsoever, calling out any President for their policies and decisions, I don?t agree with. They are here to serve us- we the people and they must be held accountable for any failure or dereliction of duty.

Presidential Criticism
Theodore Roosevelt

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

"There is not in all America a more dangerous trait than the deification of mere smartness unaccompanied by any sense of moral responsibility."
Abilene, KS, May 2, 1903

I think these quotes by TR are quite appropriate for the times, In fact, I believe they are appropriate for all time and apply to any leader of our country past or present.

The first and foremost is the important belief that each and every President should make decisions for the good of all people under our nation, not a select few.

It is just as TR said to support a Presidents actions or his words which are contrary to the will and good of the people is unpatriotic and unreasonable.

You Recon, on the other hand, choose to ignore the bad decisions, bad words and lies Trump inflicted upon all of us. In other words, this man means more to you, than the health, wealth and stability of our democracy. That is not patriotism, that is worship.

Jimi, there is a badge of Trumpy honour at telling huge lies and expecting to get away with it.

After all the Chunky Mar a lago Cheese told more than 30,000 lies while in office and has almost certainly doubled that in his firs year out of office.

Neither michael nor Linda care one whit about the truth. Linda keeps rabbiting on about soldiers being left behind for the Afghans to kill. is there ANY evidence of that?

Yvonne, I am afraid you are simply blinded by prejudice. You say something like, 'If Trump had done one tenth of what Biden has done...."

The plain facts are that Trump is a bad actor and always has been. he pulled off more dangerous and criminal stunts than Biden could ever achieve. More of this will be revealed in the coming months, including that he attempted to pull down the entire Constitution with his seditious actions up to and on the 6th January.

I notice nobody has been able to answer my basic question as to why Trump is frantically trying to stop documents about that day being released to the investigative committee.

Yvonne, I never expect a sensible answer from Michael or Linda, but maybe you could give it a shot. Why is he attempting to hide the evidence if he has done nothing wrong?

That's a similar argument of course to why he never revealed his tax returns despite promising to do so on a hundred different occasions. He took to the courts with that one too.

No suspicions about that, i suppose?

Then maybe, just maybe, you could tell me all of this stuff you think Biden has done (apart from a clumsy exit from Afghanistan)
