Define a snide comment and cheap shot Brett because you've obviously supposedly had a few.
Just let it go instead of playing this cryptic game that no one knows what you are specifically talking about
Please give an example of a snide comment you may have received and let others adjudicate because you obviously won't let it go. Sad really
Maybe a private message to the reviewer is more admirable if you have had a problem
just a thought.
I don't think this post if read correctly has anything to do with snide comments.

I have better things to do than list snide comments I have received for other members to "adjudicate" as proposed. I wasn't aware that FanStory is a courtroom. All along I've always thought it was a writing site. My question was a legitimate one that other members understood and responded to. If there is an issue with me asking a question, then the same option applies when one receives fluff reviews. Just a thought.

Fluff Five reviews exist, of course. Easy to recognize, especially when someone comments on your 'poem' and you posted a book chapter. The site doesn't call them 'fluff,' that's what the rest of us call them. Personal digs and snide remarks can be ignored by saying 'thanks' and moving on, but if they are part of a nasty attack on the writer, they should be reported to Tom.

Exactly Brett. Fanstory isn't a courtroom
Lucky, because you would make a terrible defence lawyer lol

Oh 'defence' is how we spell it down under
as it is coming up as spell check
It certainly isn't a "snide comment"

respectfully dip

I will leave this whole situation laying right here because the entire matter is now painted crystal clearly in my mind and there is absolutely no misunderstanding whatsoever. The proven response to members of this site who have unquestionably been subjected to snide comments and cheap shots is to attempt to make unfunny comical remarks. Whoop-di-do! I am sure they really appreciate that. However, that says everything that needs to be said doesn't it? Should they have expected anything differently? No! There is no need for any further comment on this subject.

Your comments clearly expressed your thoughts on the subject, and that's fine, but that doesn't mean I have to accept your response...I pay for the privilege to post here, and that includes this forum...there is no one voice here!

Every single member can express themselves just as you have, that's what a forum is all about...

Just Some Thoughts!

I've found that honest reviews/critiques are now truly wanted. When mistakes are pointed out, or improvements suggested, the author will say they are going to leave it the way it is, if they even respond.

My deduction is some people don't want a true critique. There are a few that shouldn't ask for them, too.

I, too, have noticed that some ask for reviews in
their reviews of others.

Snide comments??? That comment here in the forum
Dr D about Brett not being a good defense lawyer is a
snide comment IMHO. It matters not that you wrote LOL.

If you have to qualify your comment with that OVERUSED
lol, then probably what you wrote is inappropriate.

I think it's time to put this to bed. No matter how much griping and complaining is done, people are not going to change the way they review. I'm happy with the ones I get, and most are honest reviews. For REALLY honest critiques, join a class. The instructor will be totally honest, and that's good. After learning and applying what he teaches, you will get more honest reviews.
