It's OK to be wrong and admit where one was wrong and what one learned. That's a central part of the way science works. Yet I fear that many are too entrenched in groupthink—and too afraid to publicly take responsibility—to do this. Solving these problems in the long term requires a greater commitment to pluralism and tolerance in our institutions, including the inclusion of critical if unpopular voices. Intellectual elitism, credentialism, and classism must end. Restoring trust in public health—and our democracy—depends on it."

Gates has spoken out about Covid conspiracy theories directed at him. In June 2020, he reportedly told a phone call announcing vaccine funding: "It's almost hard to deny this stuff because it's so stupid or strange that even to repeat it gives it credibility."According to
Wired, he added: "I've never been involved in any microchip type thing."In January 2021, Gates told Reuters: "
Nobody would have predicted that I and [Anthony Fauci, the former medical adviser to the president] would be so prominent in these really evil theories. I'm very surprised by that [and] I hope it goes away."
When you read Gates’ last statement, you have to wonder: what kind of hermetically sealed bubble is he living in? He clearly didn’t understand the grassroots power of the WWW. It seems he also missed how the Net almost instantly was being populated with conspiracy theories, misinformation and disinformation. Clearly he didn’t pay attention to the growing power among alternative health groups which began asserting, “the Gates family has documented ties to reinvented eugenics movements of the modern age and the work carried out by their organisation shows ulterior motives contrary to saving lives and that Bill Gates Snr and Planned Parenthood, the Gates Foundation and philanthropy deceptions, vested vaccine interests were engineering a pandemic.” All of which happened long before the COVID pandemic actually hit. Hope it goes away? That is as ineffective a response to disinformation brought about by tools he helped create, as thoughts and prayers are after another mass-shooting.

I would imagine most governments around the world will be taking a good long look at their responses to the pandemic - certainly that's what is going to happen here. There have already been clear admissions of mistakes made... Hopefully any such enquiry would be fully independent of government.
As for Gates - a bit blinkered perhaps, but really, aren't you astonished at the sheer stupidity of the accusations levelled against him and Fauci?

Well, it sounds like you've come to a clear, contrite understanding of the hate you helped create, turning victims one against the other.

Agreed a review should be done by an international group of people from all walks of life, including those who have different theories about the pandemic.
While there is much blame to go around, I hold Zuckerberg and Gates particularly responsible for the rise of a split reality that both have washed their hands of any responsibility for. It has been thirty years since the Internet fired up. That is a very long time to be reading about "proof" from another reality. And with algorithms that are designed to feed readers more of what they agree with, it pretty well guarantees an increasingly angered captive audience. Especially given there is money to be made on blogs and podcasts designed to anger people with the injustice of the establishment and then selling a supplement to strengthen their body and mind against alien invasion. Capitalism didn't/doesn't work for an important segment of the population. You can hardly blame them for being angered, and to see all these women in positions of power bringing in immigrants to replace them, well, those are fighting words.
I can also see how extreme healthers would be opposed to any mandated vaccine. After all they go to extreme lengths to keep toxins out of their bodies. While childhood vaccinations were forced on all of us by well-meaning, but unknowing parents/guardians, the choice is now ours and as adults we won't be forced to inject toxins by the elites. I get that as we all should.
Yes, I find the theories about Fauci and Gates dangerous, but I can see how the dots were connected to arrive at these conclusions. Chief among the fault lines was Gates' egomaniacal need to be a visionary. It worked out just fine for him in the world of zeros and ones, but not at all regarding health. He overstepped his bounds, and worse he was completely blindsided by the theories about him. A person in his place of wealth and prominence with self-asserted prophetic vision should have seen it coming from a mile away. He wasn't paying attention to how much the world has changed since his heyday and largely due to the platform for public discourse he helped create. He is deaf to the many diverse voices around the world.

So should we blame Benz or Ford for all the lives lost in road accidents? The creators of motion pictures for all the harm caused by pornography? The Orville and Wilbur )or Richard Pearse if you're a Kiwi) for air crashes?
I can understand chucking a brick or two at Zuckerberg - he's using technology to manipulate people, albeit people who should know better.
But what exactly are you accusing Gates of? Being upset because the conspiracy theorists of the world cast him as a villain? What a crime!

Bill Gates made some powerful enemies over the years with his predatory business practices. Most notably his theft of the NetScape Navigator browser that he integrated into his Windows Operating System thus putting NetScape out of business. He should have been aware that some people can have great patience when delivering the cold dish of revenge. The very tools that brought him massive wealth were used against him and to great success. And that is my conspiracy theory.
Of course I think all the other theories are rubbish, but the problem isn't just going to go away. I am sure you also have noticed that "alternative facts" are gaining more traction by the day. IMO taking on disinformation should be Gates' upper-most priority at this point in time.

I've heard he has bought up the lions share of farmland in the US...I'll bet to raise grass-fed beef to feed the poor...or those dispossessed from the capitalists Carnegie hall of egomaniac self grandeur.

I think it's possible that Gates' is trying to dominate and control the world. If you control agriculture, you control the population. Owning all that farm land enables him to establish a global food monopoly dominated by genetically-modified crops and seeds and to control the food supply and to reduce the world's population significantly in the process.
I think it was according to him that, "human weeds" and "garden seeds" have a need for culling. Therefore he is developing agricultural and medicinal paradigms that will enslave the world's most impoverished. Whatever the case may be, there is no denying that Gates now has an interest in spreading GMOs around the world. Either that or he is looking for a way to reduce livestock flatulence.
