Only the Facts, Please

<< Thread Modifed October 27 at 4:24AM >>

I am putting this thread up to be used to post the facts about current events.

To my understanding Biden's $40 billion childcare goes over 10 years, so that is $4 billion per year, or is this from another bill already passed? If someone knows for sure and has already processed the information please do share.

Anyway it doesn't matter as this number is being used in another thread that I don't care to join because of the character assassination and massive amount of disinformation it contains.

That said, let's put this in perspective, the average child care worker's wage is $23,000 per year.

So $40 billion divided by ten (years) = $4,000,000,000 divided by $23,000 = 173,913 jobs or 0.05 of a percentage point of the US population.

I realize Biden's plan has more facets, and the outcome might possibly be determined with a different set of data points than my example, but it does give us a general idea that $40 billion over 10 years isn't a whole lotta Harvard in the big picture of things. Moreover it doesn't include the income and tax coming from people able to work when they have adequate child care.

Gloria, thank you for posting. I have been doing a bit of research on this particular topic.

I think you are pretty spot on but will have to get back to you.

I will just say this. Children are our future. I don?t care what country you hail from. They are tomorrow?s leaders, inventors and discoverers. We should all happily invest in this precious human commodity. Our teachers are to be valued and it is important that they have the tools, the resources and the support to inspire, influence, and teach our children.

Our children and our teachers and the staff also need a good and safe environment in which to teach and to learn. Every child deserves this.

Let us not forget daycare. Quality daycare where our children are safe, happy and in a learning environment. This is not always the case. Young minds are malleable and it is of utmost importance that their experience in early childhood daycare should be positive, nurturing and healthy.

Low income families need assistance in this department. It is crucial. We have several programs such as Head Start. But even this program needs a new look.

I was a single Mother of five. I worked three jobs and quality daycare was out of my reach financially, but thankfully- I had a great support group of Grandparents which helped in this department.

Much more to be said- but I will get back to you.

I don't have much to add about the specifics of this particular component of the bill, but I will just state that when you logic is so backassward then the nonsense you see on the other thread is what you end up with.

If you start with the assumption that Biden and Democrats are evil pedophiles bent on destroying the country then it is obvious that any decisions they make, and policy they put forward must be part of some evil plan as part of their satanic agenda.

How someone gets to a 'mature' stage of their life without gaining a more balanced perspective of how politics work is beyond me.

Political parties and their leaders are cross-sections of the society they represent. They are clearly far from perfect, but the majority of people are decent, hard-working humans who are sincerely seeking to find the best results possible for the nation

In among their number will be some whose ethics are far from ideal and some whose behaviour behind the scenes is downright criminal. Over the last few years the evidence points to more corruption and criminality on the Republican side than on the Democrat.

Logic, common sense and years of observing how these things work, plus an abundance of caution as to sources of information can lead the reasonably intelligent commentator in the right direction. All of those things seem to be severely lacking 'over there.'

Sigh.

RE: Only the Facts, Please
Aha ha...indeed, for two of you at least
the happenings here are merely a spectator's sport, of which the consequences carry no cost.
But I find your obscure comprehension of Our reality intriguing as you do your ouija boards. If We who sojourn here have trouble rummaging through all the deliberate garbage dump sites...how would you even know you're one of them...?
American politics has brought US to the brink of economic collapse and just one shocking look at the biden proposed spending bill...clearly demonstrates how that happened.
Way less government might save US...
Anymore will enslave US.
Let's go Brandon

RE: Only the Facts, Please
Michael, your use of the word 'reality' and bringing your BS to a thread labelled 'Only the Fact's is cause for great merriment.

You wouldn't know either of those two fine concepts (reality and facts) if they up and smacked you in the face.

Why don't you totter back to your fawning admirers 'over there' and don't attempt to bring your grade school insults to a serious discussion over here,

Bye, now!

Yup! Just dump your kids in daycare.

That's why we're here.

RE: Only the Facts, Please
Linda Anna, where did that statement come from and what was its purpose?

Quality daycare is a need, especially for single moms or single dads. Unfortunately any kind of daycare can be a tough expense for low income families and median income also.

To use the term ?dump? your kid in daycare is nothing short of judgmental. Perhaps, just perhaps, you were the fortunate one who was not left to her own devices to care for her children while you had no other alternative but to work and to put food in their mouths and a roof over their head. I say, good for you.

Please do not insult the myriads of good and loving parents who must work to provide for their beautiful children. It is hard enough for many parents to leave their little ones in another?s care. Let us not stigmatize them.

RE: Only the Facts, Please
Ok. Parents should be scared as hell to leave their kids in daycare.

Yes, I was fortunate enough to be able to make the decision to stay home with my 3 sons. I'm broke now because of it. They are thriving. My story does not matter.

The government wants to indoctrinate the children and now...
inject them with an trial bioweapon.

When I "retired" early I thought I'd like to work with children...I applied to a local Methodist daycare.

My first day a young boy wanted me to rub his back as he was jerking off.

I worked w/ 2 year olds for a short time. Totally uncontrolled and parents left them from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Picked them up while talking on a cell phone.

Disgusting.

Though true, as far as I know, your story has no place on this thread.
However, you are entitled to your opinion, and unfortunately to imposing
on a decent thread.

RE: Only the Facts, Please
How is the government trying to indoctrinate them?

It is sad you had such an experience trying to take care of children.

Yes! Indeed you were fortunate to be able to be home with your children. To be able to attend every moment, every milestone in their lives is but a distant dream to many parents. Many. Basketball games, dance recitals, birthday parties, and being a constant integral part of their schools is a blessing indeed!

I would never ever consider myself broke from raising my kids. Not in any sense of the word. Yes, I struggled as many parents do. I have walked in their shoes which quite possibly lends to my empathy and compassion.

I consider myself rich in the things which matter most. I cannot quote statistics at the moment, but I think I beat them. Five children from a broken home, living at or below the poverty line and all five are successful, responsible adults with many degrees among all of them and exceptional Mothers and Fathers. To boast all five accomplishing such things is a major feat. Therefore, if for this reason only, I would never consider myself broke.

It speaks a lot about family values when you could have worked but chose not to because you didn?t need to. Kudos to you.

I know there are many who live in a million dollar dog house, where the owners had to work to keep up appearances and lifestyle. The dog lived there more hours than the family.

As for your bad experiences, I am sure it is not isolated incidences, but for the most part, I don?t think it happens on such a grand scale that one should judge all parents as not interested and all children as out of control. But again, young children are just that- impetuous and immature. This is why they need guidance from one who truly cares..

I am a firm believer, that to take care of others children, you have to not only love it, but be passionate about it, regardless of scenarios as you explained.

Quality childcare providers are essential for our young minds. They must love, inspire, encourage, teach, and be firm in impeccable values. I feel it is of utmost importance these providers have the right credentials, thus, there should be mandatory ongoing education requirements In this field. This takes time, support and money. Salaries should be well enough to be able to provide for their families also.
