I’m a simple man, I must confide;
Dogs, golf, RV with fridge outside
Are my “Trifecta of Happy”, in these
Days of my life; how they please!
Gone are those days of biz battle,
With problems and demands to rattle
My good humor, killing my laughter;
It was never what I was really after.
But, fought the battles, won my share,
And now retired, left it all back there!
To focus most on what pleases me:
Dogs, golf, outside fridge in my RV.
Full disclosure: Yes, I have a wife, too;
She’s there to tell me what to do…
In my poem ‘bout “happy”, does she fit?
To keep me organized and right, she’s it!

Author Notes
In the beginning, I was a boy. Then, it got complicated. Then, marriage, kids and career, it was complicated on steroids. Ah, but retirement makes it all worthwhile. Dogs, golf and an outside fridge in my RV is sweet balance to the real life I once knew. May you also find your balance on the backroad of retirement!
